I haven't seen the footage... it's his niece and nephew who got biffed by 2 footy players.

Who knows what happened... in the worst case scenario... our boys started the fight and assaulted some chick randomly.

Best case scenario Kristy and Nick were fighting with 2 of out boys and they lost so complained. People keep forgetting that Nick Bradley is a former NRL player! Somehow it's just his sister getting mentioned... my guess is that Nick had more to do with the fight than his sister, and they're both sore losers of a fight they started.

I think forensics quite clearly show that a woman was punched, and will probably link the punch to Jake Friend's fist, if that is the case, then legally it is an assault. Sorry, but that's the definition... if you accidentally walk into a guy, push him over and he falls to his death down a bottomless pit then you still assaulted him. It will be up to the lawyers/police to argue over how serious this particular assault was. I just thought I'd clear up that definition... assault is making contact with somebody, or threatening to do so... if you tell your mate in jest "haha **** off you ****, I'll smash you if you do that again..." and he's threatened then it's assault... sure, it'll go nowhere in court, I just thought I'd make it clear that we're dealing with an assault in this situation. Somebody was punched! Who, what, when, where, how, why...etc? The legal guru's will decide, however it's quite clear that a woman was assaulted by definition.

Actually the fact that 2 big blokes were fighting in a club is committing an assault towards those around them by definition because it's behaving in a threatening manner, and putting people in fear! Chook, people read it and lap it up. You can see the evidence on this site as clear as day. Something is in the paper about players from our own team and they are jumped on by their own supporters. Players from another team...well, they are jumped on from a greater height.

It all comes part in parcel; they're being paid really good money, so the clubs who are paying them can expect more from them. Like any star performers in our community; their clubs, sponsors, companies...etc pay enough money that they can expect good behaviour from the people they are paying.

Fights are not acceptable because they're childish, scary and people seem to be forgetting... against the law! Most adults simply don't get involved in fist fights! It is unacceptable that a fight broke out no matter who was involved. I blame footy players even more because it's their JOB to get REALLY BIG!!!!! These guys are scary if they can't control their tempers in public!!!!

Personally I think I'd be in gaol if I "accidentally" punched a girl. I go out and get TRASHED every weekend... that's cool, but I never get into fights. Is it really that hard for these guys to not be involved in fights? I'd add, they're being paid to be in AWESOME health!! I want fit guys on the field for my team!!! When we're on the bottom of the ladder, do they really have the option of going out and getting WASTED every weekend? Everybody knows it's no good for your health and it slows down your recovery.

I'd prefer that these boys went to the club-house after the game, cooled-down, talked about the game, did some recovery exercises...etc then went home and had a quiet (early) night with their families. That's what the quality players do! Maybe the next day they could go down to Bondi and do a bit of recovery work down the beach rather than lying in bed with a headache all day. Believe it or not, they're being paid to keep their bodies in the BEST POSSIBLE SHAPE! Particularly with us down the bottom of the ladder, I'd prefer they did that!

PS maybe this thread should be locked? I think we've all seen the 2 sides of it:
1) Fighting/assault are not acceptable... many are disappointed that our boys were involved in it and will make no excuses for this.
2) Many seem to be mentioning the fact that the people accusing our boys of wrongdoing were probably the instigators, so our boys did nothing wrong and we should get behind them as fans.
