Your logic is the same logic used by those radical muslim clerics... she was dressed up like a piece of raw meat, so it's her fault that she got raped.

She tried to break up 2 big men who were fighting... so it's her fault that she got hit. Admittedly it was a dumb thing to do... but the fact is that she got assaulted and the cops think they have enough to charge 2 Roosters over this one.
How could you even make a comparison like that?

If someone throws a punch not even knowing you're there, and you walk into it, how the hell does that compare to rape? Seriously, the mind just boggles.

        Another dickhead with warped logic!!!!!

How the **** was she assaulted if she jumped in the middle of a fight? She should be charged with stupidity if that is true. What if the combatants had weapons? Knives or guns? Would she jump in the middle and not expect to get hurt?

Well if that's the case then he's got nothing to fear...
If he was throwing a punch and she acted as a human shield then his intention was not to assault her, but he still intended to assault somebody! Why was he throwing a punch in the first place?

I want to stick up for the boys... but I'm sorry... no court will say "well you were just stupid... he threw a punch in a fit of rage and you were such a ****ing idiot that you walked right into it..."

They'll ask WTF were you in a drunken fit of rage, and WTF did you throw a punch, regardless of who it was aimed at?

Best case scenario Kristy and Nick were fighting with 2 of out boys and they lost so complained. People keep forgetting that Nick Bradley is a former NRL player! Somehow it's just his sister getting mentioned... my guess is that Nick had more to do with the fight than his sister, and they're both sore losers of a fight they started.

STILL!!!! Kristy Bradley should not have been assaulted, no matter how damn stupid she was in this situation!!
            VERY VERY POOR COMPARISON !!!

One is a perception on ones looks, a clerics beliefs on the way people are dressed.

We are talking about someone entering a volatile situation.

Would you walk into a burning building and not expect to get burnt or get smoke inhaliation (and possible Death)??

It is never good to hit a woman in ANY circumstance, the problem is when someone, a man or a woman, enters a volitile situation such as a fight, their chances of getting injured and hurt increase EXPONENTIONALLY !

"an assault/battery is committed when one person 1) tries to or does physically strike another, or 2) acts in a threatening manner to put another in fear of immediate harm."

So... an assault was committed because 1 person physically struck another. It doesn't matter what she did... if he physically struck her then he has committed assault/battery.

I think forensics quite clearly show that a woman was punched, and will probably link the punch to Jake Friend's fist, if that is the case, then legally it is an assault. Sorry, but that's the definition... if you accidentally walk into a guy, push him over and he falls to his death down a bottomless pit then you still assaulted him. It will be up to the lawyers/police to argue over how serious this particular assault was. I just thought I'd clear up that definition... assault is making contact with somebody, or threatening to do so... if you tell your mate in jest "haha **** off you ****, I'll smash you if you do that again..." and he's threatened then it's assault... sure, it'll go nowhere in court, I just thought I'd make it clear that we're dealing with an assault in this situation. Somebody was punched! Who, what, when, where, how, why...etc? The legal guru's will decide, however it's quite clear that a woman was assaulted by definition.

Actually the fact that 2 big blokes were fighting in a club is committing an assault towards those around them by definition because it's behaving in a threatening manner, and putting people in fear! WTF were 2 Roosters having a fight? That's the question we need to be asking!!!! WTF were they fighting!!!! Not "Why did she interfere?"

These are guys on 6 figure salaries who are idols within the community. They should know better than to fight in public! The fact that a girl got hurt just makes the situation worse...

              ---

My hope!! My BIG hope is that it was all Nick Bradley's fault! That HE threatened Friend or something... then Earl jumped in and tried to rip Bradley off Friend... then Bradley's sister jumped into that brawl and was accidentally punched...

Then they're probably off pretty well scott-free. Still shouldn't have been fighting, but means Earl wasn't really fighting (was acting in defence of Friend) and Friend was also acting in self defence as Bradley attacked him... and the sister... well she just got in the way, and the guys had no intention of harming her... still, she was assaulted and felt scared... and 3 big guys shouldn't have done that to her! Nick Bradley needs more of a mention in this one rather than some innocent little angel I think. What was Nick Bradley doing? I think it's far more likely he was arguing with Friend and did some dodgy stuff...

What does that have to do with anything? So a bloke earns a 6 figure salary and all of a sudden he chnages his lifestyle to the point where he no longer defends himself or stops being a dickhead? Do you think they go out looking for fights in public? Fights usually happen in the spur of the moment. Look at the tone in this forum. Someone accuses someone else of not knowing anything and then they are on the front foot. Happens all the time with a gut full of drink.

As for being idols within the community, who put them there? Idiots like you and me? They are just footy players. Tell me if you would take a job where you had to uphold your companies profile 24/7? I know I bloody well wouldn't.

Just let the investigation take its course without all this conjecture. It is all speculation unless you were there.

MORE than half of top-level NRL players are embarrassed to be known as a footballer following a scandal-plagued 2009 season.
                    __________________________________________________ ____________

I don't blame em. The scrutiny NRL players are under at the moment borders on farkin ludicrous. The media has an insatiable appetite for scandal and will take anything, including taking a slash, and pump the shit out of it for a headline. Geesus I remember watching footage of some player take a piss on the field. Willie takes one at night in an alleyway and he's bloody crucified!

If I was Nick Politis or any other club CEO I'd be telling the media to take a fast, long farking leap off the nearest cliff face!! Screw these retards!

                    Chook.

Chook, people read it and lap it up. You can see the evidence on this site as clear as day. Something is in the paper about players from our own team and they are jumped on by their own supporters. Players from another team...well, they are jumped on from a greater height.

The only way to stop it is to stop reading the papers or let the media know that we, as in the subscribers to their publications, have had enough. I email Phil "the buzz" via the DT website telling him what a tool him and his sporting reporter mates are. He doesen't print them on his little discussion pages....

It all comes part in parcel; they're being paid really good money, so the clubs who are paying them can expect more from them. Like any star performers in our community; their clubs, sponsors, companies...etc pay enough money that they can expect good behaviour from the people they are paying.

Fights are not acceptable because they're childish, scary and people seem to be forgetting... against the law! Most adults simply don't get involved in fist fights! It is unacceptable that a fight broke out no matter who was involved. I blame footy players even more because it's their JOB to get REALLY BIG!!!!! These guys are scary if they can't control their tempers in public!!!!

Personally I think I'd be in gaol if I "accidentally" punched a girl. I go out and get TRASHED every weekend... that's cool, but I never get into fights. Is it really that hard for these guys to not be involved in fights? I'd add, they're being paid to be in AWESOME health!! I want fit guys on the field for my team!!! When we're on the bottom of the ladder, do they really have the option of going out and getting WASTED every weekend? Everybody knows it's no good for your health and it slows down your recovery.

I'd prefer that these boys went to the club-house after the game, cooled-down, talked about the game, did some recovery exercises...etc then went home and had a quiet (early) night with their families. That's what the quality players do! Maybe the next day they could go down to Bondi and do a bit of recovery work down the beach rather than lying in bed with a headache all day. Believe it or not, they're being paid to keep their bodies in the BEST POSSIBLE SHAPE! Particularly with us down the bottom of the ladder, I'd prefer they did that!

PS maybe this thread should be locked? I think we've all seen the 2 sides of it:
                          1) Fighting/assault are not acceptable... many are disappointed that our boys were involved in it and will make no excuses for this.
                          2) Many seem to be mentioning the fact that the people accusing our boys of wrongdoing were probably the instigators, so our boys did nothing wrong and we should get behind them as fans.

I accept both notions and believe this is going around in a bit of a circle.

                              Faaark you are a moron..

These players are still part of our society,so therefore they are entitled to the same basic rights as the rest of us..

That includes being able to socialise in public..

If you "ACCIDENTALLY punched a girl..& it was proven as such you WOULDN'T go to jail..You WOULD be exonerated like anyone else whose innocence was proved..

The way you talk about "GETTING TRASHED EVERY WEEKEND"...then demanding a football team doesn't drink reeks of hypocracy..

And confirms my opinion that you are a minor (8 years old is my guess)..

Every time you post you further prove your immaturity & ignorance
