Why put in their heads we are lightweights going up against heavyweights?
Its 13 v 13 and we are the Roosters.
I'm pumped, bring it on baby.
    Cant wait.
Has he? All I've heard from Robbo is that we're improving every week and he wants to be in the right place to beat them next week.

He's a realist (I mean, bet your house on us winning if you reckon our form demonstrate's we're a good chance of winning). However, he believes we CAN win and is gonna try his hardest to prep us for victory.

Yep as usual... glad the 'Pen ain't doing the coaching/playing. I get that the likely outcome s*x date, but the coach & players definitely believe they can win.

Who knows? I mean the way I see it...
      - We're better coached and have the better star players. Wouldn't trade Teddy, JWH, Walker, Manu, Toops, Radley, Crichton...etc for that rabble.
      - We're better coached. Wayne's past it and just hovers around, selecting clubs that he reckons have a good chance of winning the comp. Had we not fluked it into the 2010 GF, he'd be 0/0 outside his Brisbane career.
      - As with the Dragons game, we already know that Souffs will be reffed into the game and none of their penalties will be caught. I mean the Dragons had a guy do a leaping coat-hanger followed by a flying kick (both at players trying to score) and the refs had no dramas. Whereas, Crichton, Rads and JWH always seem to have to face the judiciary for 5 week suspensions due to a fark load of grade-1 'incidents' being over-scrutinised to the point where carry-over points will result in 3-5 weeks no matter what the incident. It's a joke...
      - We have so many injuries/suspensions that the above point matters big time because we're relying on 2nd and 3rd string players to hold the fort in defence.

WE CAN STILL WIN because we're better coached and we have way more depth/development in our systems. However, it'll be tough. The good news is that it won't be tough due to Souffs' skills... they'll be praying that we're penalised outta the game and cop more injuries/suspensions coz regardless of our situation, we're still serious contenders.

Robbo is just playing mind games.

We simply cannot keep giving opposition teams easy possession.
If we play like we did today we won't beat Souths.

Both sets of grandparents settled there when they came on a boat from Lebanon in the 1920’s and most of my aunties are still alive even though they are all in their 90’s now as they breed them tough up in Toowoomba. One of them is 99 years old and will be 100 in January but she actually lives down here now in Campsie across the road from Belmore Sports Ground with my Vermin loving cousin. My parents met in Toowoomba as children and Dad went to the same school where Jonathan Thurston chose to go to as they have a very good rugby league program there. As my family were Parra fans they hold no love for St George (1977 grand final replay anyone?) so I’ve been having a good cry ever since Toups scored as I knew we’d be fine after that. Wonder if my school mate was there as he is a Dragons fan and ironically nicknamed Chook as his surname is HENderson. He was one of Mum’s nurses and when I went home for the last time he said are you still following those slimy Eels? Mum piped up and said no she’s gone all posh on us and moved to Rose Bay and follows the Roosters now..I just said Chook are you still following those stinkin’ Dragons? Lots of rugby league history in Toowoomba with the Duncan Thompson stand as Vossy mentioned also being down here at North Sydney Oval.

I’m off now for a really long walk after that as the smoke from the hazard burning has cleared over the harbour.

I hope everyone has a beautiful happy week. I love you all, even the grumpy ones on here who love to bait me.

I said Toowoomba would be a good omen for us.
Love this post, enjoy hearing the history of our fraternity.

          • Toups has been my favourite Rooster for a long time, his brilliance is a given for me. That is why I think that Liu and SST were the hidden champions of this match. They both steamrolled the STI defence into early tiredness. Well done all though.

We need to select a big player on the right wing to tackle Johnston into next week when he comes running down the wing.
So SST and JWH to play out wide next week......

                    • What a bloody gutsy effort today. The boys seem to be thriving in the permanent team camp environment. I’m immensely proud of the whole organisation. What a club.

                              Ha ha, good one.

On another note, that Dragons Fijian winger was quite the diving bitch wasn't he? Nothing has changed at the dragons - a bunch of diving queens.

The Manu escort was very, very bad too. A bit hard to believe Klein in the bunker didn't see that - it was obvious as dogs balls. Simply chose to pretend it didn't happen. And yet they pick up every microscopic transgression of ours.

Also, and I know you're gonna say I'm one eyed, but the first dragons try - Teddy had his hand on the ball, but he most definitely didn't strip it, the dragons player just lunged with his ball carrying arm and that was what made the ball come loose. A classic loose carry.

                              • nrl physio update on butch -
Early assessments suggest a meniscus injury for Nat Butcher, Roosters indicating the main concern was twisting of the knee which caused difficulty bending. Will need scans to confirm nature/extent of injury, if meniscus tear confirmed most common prognosis - surgery & 4-6 weeks
