Maybe. Probably depends on whether we can get a good replacement.

Don’t forget that the Salary Cap has gone down over the last 2 years. Also, the number of players in the squad is fixed, so we still have to spread whatever cash is available across how ever many players we need to make up the 30 (or whatever).

        Cooper Cronk 800k
        Latrell Mitchell 500k
        Boyd Cordner 500k
        Jake Friend 400k
        Brett Morris 200k
        Josh Morris 200k
        Kyle Flanagan 250k
        Liu 250k

Surely all that money hasn't gone to upgrades and contracts for Suaalii, Walker, Keighran and Hutch? Unless I'm forgetting a name or two that we've signed.
From reports I think that’s well off the mark.
        Boyd was $800
        Latrell was $600+
Cronk would have been up near the mill.
Friend I would say at $400 he was the lowest pid Hooker in the game especially as he was a Captain & rep player,so I’d think more the $5-$600 range.
        Others seem spot on .
Dont forget we also had Aubbo finish up last year,SBW was on a few hundred for his cameo.
Something is up & I realise cap has decreased but either we still have coin left, paid massive overs for Sualli,or as has been the rumours we have been miles over the dap for years & finally been pulled into line

I agree 100%. I deliberately listed them for significant unders just to make a point that we surely have a bit of cap room ready. I think what you listed is definitely closer to the mark.

The Butcher's have re-signed so maybe SST is going.

Then the Roosters need Keighran in the team.

Has Copley been added for 2022? Should be on list

PROP is key for me. The main thing i'd like to see, considering SST is likely leaving of his own accord, and considering JWH will retire in either 2022/2023, is....

                PAYNE HAAS.

Apparently he has another couple years at the Broncs, they have tabled a long term deal, but he hasnt yet taken it (correct me if i'm wrong?). I'd love to see us find a way to get him out of that contract.

You put this guy in a good system like ours, and he will be the No.1 Prop in the game for half a decade at least. Complete and utter freak. And seems fairly mature and well grounded considering the shit show he has been involved with at the Broncs. His effort and attitude in a miserable excuse for a footy team speaks volumes IMO.

Additionally, with JWH gone we will lose A LOT of mongrel in the middle. His attitude and the fear he puts into opposition is a cornerstone of our success....we need to find a way to replace that.

As long as we can keep Manu, i'm quite happy with our outside backs.

Keary returning solves our halves problen.

We are now very well served at rake with Verrils, Watson, Lam.

The Bakers and Butchers will only get better at second row, supporting Gus & Sitili.

PROP it is......we need a good one.

I’m told Jake Friend was on a very humble contract .. ( think more like $150-250k )

Aaron Woods (Sharks, Blake Ferguson (Eels), Josh Dugan (Sharks), Jordan Rapana (Raiders), Dylan Napa (Bulldogs), Tyrone Peachey (Titans), Ash Taylor (Titans), Dylan Walker (Sea Eagles), Corey Norman (Dragons) and Josh Morris (Roosters) are the big names that remain unsigned beyond 2021.

How good would it be to get Rapana up to the Chooks next year if not him then Duges.

                          Couldnt help myself Tobes.
The outcry on here if the Roosters signed Rapana would be priceless.

I dont think we need to do anything drastic....just blood in young blokes feel them out and then fill in the blanks. If you jump the gun and sign big guns before you work out the blood you tend to hit disaster etc..kids gloves is needed with salary cap and all.

gould said something interesting re the eels, that they buy in so mnay players, their players dont know what parramatta eels dna is.

continue to develop from within, with odd outside signing.

our players know roosters dna, the roosters way.
