All those little monetary fines add up as carry over points and then BINGO , you’re effed when it matters.
minor offences should not have carry over points, only major ones like the raiders player high shot and Matterson’s tackle should carry over points

He copped a Grade 2 charge, which I thought might have led to a guilty plea with an attempt at downgrade. It was not so much carryover points as loading for prior offences that got him up to 3 weeks. Base charge was 200 points, but 4 prior offences in the last 2 years hiked it up to 350.

Victor has copped 8 wks of suspensions when in reality he deserved about 1 wk total.
Even Angus has copped 4 wks that I can recall when he didn't deserve one.
And they're charging JWH every month with bogus charges.
It's clear that the NRL don't want certain star players in the game and obviously don't care for the fans who pay for money to watch the elite talent compete.
Maybe they should indeed head to Union/England and we fans who they don't give a **** about should find another sport too.

And what about that fool Graham Annesley going on about coaches and the media complaining about bad refereeing decisions. He is trying to muzzle any criticism. Well Annesley you dope, we don’t live in communist China where the population have to agree with everything. We have a right to call out the idiocy of what the NRL had created. And you are hardly objective given you were a referee and are now a pathetic yes man. You are a mindless fool who wants us to follow your lead of bowing and scraping to ignorant administrators. Why do you think that all of a sudden the NRL’s and referees’ ineptness, incompetence and bias is being called out. People in the game have had enough and the tide is turning. Annesley, your loyalty to bad leaders will not be rewarded, rather you will be tossed out with them when the revolution comes.

That's the stupidity of this all. Cleary's shoulder charge was the same as the one he did on Manu. His only excuse was that he 'tried to get his arm out but couldn't'. So I mean if it were a court then that's an admission of guilt - the MRC is either stupid or crooked! It's as if he's told the police 'nah I didn't hit her... I tried to control my temper and go out for a walk instead but couldn't, so that caused it' and then they've said 'fair explanation, we won't refer it to the prosecutors then'.
So I mean, Cleary has a history of shoulder charges but the's no loading or suspension... or penalty for that matter!
In all cases Radley's copped an on-field penalty (whether it be a sin-bin or a penalty from right in front of the sticks) and then he's been suspended for an overly long period on top of that. Sigh. It's really annoying!
IMO if you cop the on-field penalty then that should be that. It's unclear to me what can lead to a suspension. Most of the time a penalty's just a penalty. But no... if the ref says 'that is also going on report' (or the MRC/bunker unilaterally choose to go forward with something) then you're hit by double jeopardy.

hard to get the balance right when talking about refs - constantly put the spotlight on them and they'll encourage a culture of ref bashing but sweep their mistakes under the carpet and they'll encourage poor decision making. i think robbo gets the balance more right than any other coach and more than even the nrl itself. still can't believe they promoted the easts v canberra re-match last year by advertising the 6 again controversy.

It was a kind of self or jointly inflicted set of circumstances resulting in the suspension.
Rooster next set of six after the Walker Field Goal.
As you may recall Walker was running the ball and looked like passing to Radley then changed his mind then changed it again and decided to pass to Radley.
If you look at this you will see Radley watching Walker expecting the pass when Walker didn't pass that time Radley eye's moved to the on coming defence.
When Walker did pass Radley's eyes were on the defence and unfortunately for him he was not expecting Walker to pass and thus wasn't ready for the pass and knocked on.
In the following set of six this was when Radley did the charge down which resulted in his suspension.
Of course it could be said the pass should not have been thrown and the Chook should have played out the set with a kick to the corners and defended the lead.
Object of the story though is to be ready and anticipate that a pass maybe be thrown your way even when it shouldn't be.

including women and children.
There were plenty of women and children at games in the 80's.
The poor souls must be still traumatised.
