I get the feeling that the Roosters are making a stand.
They probably feel that with injuries alone, winning the comp is unachievable and will be content to keep playing their way and if suspensions arise, accept them and move on. The ratings will be affected, especially in the midst of trying to obtain a new free to air broadcasting deal, by further robbing the competition of its stars and possibly eyeballs watching the game...it’ll be interesting to see

Like JWH & Morley this guy will go down as a Roosters legend. I hope he doesn’t change for anyone.

The NRL have sent a strong message to Victor that they don’t want him. I wouldn’t be surprised if his manager is thinking offering him to rugby, and I couldn’t blame him. They find an excuse as to why Cleary shouldn’t be charged on what looked like a shoulder charge, yet can’t find a reason as to why a charge down with no malice intended is a worthy of a lengthy suspension. The NRL decides to come down hard on Victor in the first round against the Broncos, then decides head high tackles aren’t such a big deals weeks later. If Victor goes, it’s likely many supporters will go with him. Well done PVL, you sad sack of potatoes. Enjoy watching the Brisbane Firehawks get beaten by 50 points each week.
