There are whispers and much conjecture about signing B Smith…what do we think? Will he be a chook? Who will we need to part with to the drizzle to make it happen? Would Rads and the Cheese be the funniest feckers the club has ever had playing together at the same time?

Brandon Smith, Clint Gutherson and Connor Watson are supposedly being targeted to replace Cords, Friend and B-Moz.

IMO we'd have staff whose job it is to investigate existing opportunities and make calls where appropriate. However, this would be similar to saying '[insert company] interviewed 30 people for 1 job... they're said to be offering [the advertised pay] for [insert one of the 30 people who was interviewed]'.

My guess is that calls have been made (and as Buzz has shared quite openly), he calls up every club's coach on a regular basis asking them to confirm/deny that there have been discussions. As soon as somebody says 'no comment', you'll see a 10 page story about it.

PS - isn't Matty Johns 'the Big Cheese'? IMO Brandon's a Wombat and he's not losing that tag (even if he thinks he's a kiwi).

I love the way Brandon Smith plays the game and really enjoy watching him play but I don’t think he’s a genuine number 9 and I think he’s going to be overpriced due to the hype surrounding him in that position.

Harry Grant is the real superstar, that guy will probably be the number one 9 in the game for the next decade.

True, but he also said he gave advice on other movements too. Seems to me it would be something like “sure Connor, would love you back here but will only be able to offer X. If you want stability and opportunity to play finals have you considered x,y,z teams?”

agree. no doubt he would take him at serious unders, but if robbo comes out and publicly says that he's advising him about options with other clubs you'd have to say signing connor at market value is not a top option
