Made for a watchable game imo.

There’s probably very similar parallels between them having to let Folau & Inglis go and us having Latrell & Joey Manu.
Robison does play a very different brand of footy though so the question has got to be how much can you get out of Manu as a centre/winger. Can he really play a 2nd fullback role?

He’s been there for the 3 premierships hasn’t he?
The Storm would never let a player like that go. They’d evolve him to new positions. He could be anything, and he’s ours.

Having watched a lot of our junior grade and reserve grade teams over the years I remember watching players like Lama Tasi, Mose Mason, Kane Evans & Tinirau Arona just absolutely dominating those grades thinking these guys would go on to be great forwards for us only for them to get into First Grade and struggle every time the blow torch was applied on them.
Now I watch our reserve grade sides and see players like Egan Buthcer and Fletcher Baker and think yeh they’re going good but not really dominating at this level which makes you wonder how they transition to First Grade but when they do it’s so clear that Robinson and his coaching team have invested so much into their fundamentals and building a strong base that they just hit the ground running every time and they’re ready for whatever comes at them.
I would’ve loved to have seen someone like Tom Symonds coming through under Robinson.

I thought he had a real mixed night, some good runs where he was able to push a defender off, find his front and get a good play the ball and the other half of his runs where he was getting pushed back or dominated in the tackle and really slowing down the tempo of the set.
I thought some of his runs showed real promise though, good power and leg drive just seemed to be off with his timing which to be fair he hasn’t had a good consistent run in first grade really this year so hopefully can build some form heading into the finals.
