  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Eels

So excited for this one. The smashings against the two top teams were hard to take. Our wins since were against rubbish sides so a good win tonight will go a long way to helping heal the pain inflicted by the top two.

Let’s be realistic here, Parra are a long way from being a top side, but due to the weak competition and no major injuries, plus an easy draw so far, they find themselves well placed on the ladder. Realistically they have about as much chance of winning the comp as The Dogs. But for some reason they seem to rate themselves so let’s give it to them.

Let’s hope Rads has the memory of the Dylan Brown’s knees firmly planted in his memory.

    GO ROOSTERS!

I though we were robbed last time we played Parra. The way I see it, we're just sending JWH and the boys around to get our stuff back.

I wouldn’t want Radley to get into anymore hot water but if I was Robbo I would have had Fifita on the bench to take care of business, he needs more practice, forget about it!

We might get robbed this time too.
              Why won't we.
They seem to be a 'teacher's pet' team that can do no wrong, as are the others in the top 4.
South's seem to get favoured heavily in every match they play, seem to win the set restarts and penalties 3 to 1 "all the time".
Best wishes to us trying to beat that.
Wouldn't surprise me if Souths won the comp this season, as in 2014.

If we win here as we all know we can move into the top 4 and with parra having a horrific run home we can hold onto the spot. It would be remarkable if we can do that, it’s a big ask but we can start tonight. Cmon easts!

I'm like a proud mother hen today. The 2 young guys I have an NRL chat with both now use 'Vermin' when putting in their tips. My work with the young folk is done..

Look we are are truly under strength here.
it's a compliment to the coaching staff that we are in every game.
Last 3 weeks I thought we were gonners but Robbos work ethics shine through the players and they always have a go.
So I give them a chance.
It comes down to what our forwards do today .

Massive game tonight and one we should win.

If we can match them in the forwards the rest will take care of itself..

                        Go Easts!

We are 100 points behind on differential so I don't think you're correct. We may get there later but it will have to be on more wins than the Eels. I would prefer a 5 or 6 finish so we play a weaker team in week 1 and a smashed up top 4 team the next week.

I think we'll win today, and I also think we'll usurp the Eels for the top 4 by the end of the regular season. They've got a vicious run home and will definitely lose at least two of the remaining games after today.

I think with Moses out we'll be too good for them. We were the better team last time as well, and Angus, Rads, Teddy, Manu and Jared will get us home.

That all being said, I really wonder if it's better to finish 4th and play the Storm week 1, as opposed to 5th and then playing the Dragons or Titans or something. Oh well, if you want to win the comp you've gotta be good enough to beat everyone anyway.

Hargreaves MOTM, Manu to score two.
