I don’t see a spot in next years team for a kicker to be bought. We got Smith, we got karawealvu. Walker will probably spend all off season putting on muscle and then kicking. We should be fine. That said, keighran>verrills anyone?

That’s a juicy piece of bait you have left out there.

The sticking point is that Latrell will only come back if Cody Walker comes too but Robbos worried about how the Chookpen would take it.

Until we get a decent kicker on the field, we need Fitzy to get off his arse and rather than be in the coaches box, he should put on a trainers shirt and act as a caddy for Walker. Give Walker the tee, tell him the speed and direction of the wind, distance and what club to use.

            Manu, Smith and Suaalli.
If Trell is happy to accept wing money I'll happily take him back.

Latrell seems like a Bennet devotee. You could see him following the old boy to his next club.

Very radical rule change proposal right there.

It's not gonna happen, but I reckon if the roosters had a gun goal kicker and most of the other sides were hopeless, it would be high on the agenda for VLandys and the NRL, LOL.

                  1. There is no way that Mitchell is coming back. Sorry Latrell lovers you need to let that delusion go.
                  2. We do need a kicker but they won’t recruit a player for that skill alone.
                  3. The club will continue to back their coaching teams ability to improve Walker and Smith with TKO and Kerighan when they are playing.

Is a Jason Taylor in the bubble? Probably not? I thought JT was a pretty good goal kicker. If allowed I would turn up and chase every ball Sam kicked and return the ball and the kicking tee to him so he could focus on the kicking.

to be fair i've thought this for a while, even when we had guys on top of the point scoring tables.
field goals used to be worth 2pts so there's a history of changing what things are worth.
a try, or saving a try, is the focus of rugby league - the points should mainly be for that, not for an individual kicking a goal which doesn't fit in with the idea of it being a team game. the hard part is getting the ball over the line - that's what should be mainly rewarded

You always hear we are in the running for anyone who is available. But not at the moment. We better buy a couple of decent recruits cause unless we do we won’t be competing with the top teams next year. We desperately need an experienced forward and a right winger who can kick goals.

                          100%.
Ive posted before that Latrell will sign as the marquee player for the new Brisbane team that Bennett will coach. He'll be highest paid player from 2023 onwards.

If Trent was desperate to have a goal kicker in the side , he would play Keighran every week. Obviously its not Trent's highest priority. Also SST is a very good backup.....he just needs to become injury free. Kicking is not possible post hamstring injury for a while.....

Hard to understand why Robbo doesn't see it as an issue. No way we'll be beating Melbourne/Penrith/Souths unless we take close to every point on offer

Didn't we sign some young gun Fijian outside back who could kick goals?
