i think goal kicking is way over rewarded - no way should a conversion be worth half as much as a try. i wouldn't mind if they just gave 6 pts for every try and don't worry about a conversion attempt but if that's too radical they should make tries worth 5 and conversions worth 1. no way should 3 converted tries be worth more than 4 unconverted tries.
