So we then get a week off followed by a lovely trip to Brisbane to play the Broncos at their home ground!!! This was after the Broncos had lost their first home semi to Parra, but for some reason, were then given another home final a couple of weeks later!

We probably wouldn't have won even if it had been in Sydney as Freddie had done a rib cartilage late in the game against the Knights and was a virtual passenger but the way it worked out sucked big balls!
Then you must have agreed with the system and how it worked IN 2008 and under the defunct Mcintyre system When we lost to Broncos and NZ beat Melbourne and we had to play in NZ

The difference there is we won 2 away games & got the week off & still somehow got an away game as the Grand Final qualifier.

In 1998 we finished 6th in a 10 team finals format while the Warriors finished 8th in an 8 team finals format. Also in 1998 as the draw stood we should of actually played in Sydney & the other GF qualifier between Parra & the dogs should of been played in Brisbane but the games were swapped for obvious reasons.

No, entirely different set of circumstances and an entirely different system.

How so I was overseas that year So I have missed something Am I worng in assuming when we played Broncos in the GF Qualifier Both teams were coming off wins ? Meaning the highest placed team which was the Broncos earnt a home final ?

Read kurt's post. The NRL switched the games around. Our match was supposed to be played in Sydney.

It was a top 10 system that year not a top 8. We were actually coming off a week off because we had won all our games. The Broncos were forced to play the week before because they had lost to Parra. We went from being ranked higher than them, to having to concede home ground advantage.
