The tackle we all long for which few in the NRL are adept at, the drive through the hips, see J Trbojevic, de Belin and our Radley, is the most physically demanding, especially with the 10 metre rule. The less entertaining, catch, hold and bring down, isn’t as impactful or violent but can extend a career such as Cam Smiths.

The piledriver, clothes line, elbow drop, choke slam, Cumberland throws have long been removed from the game.

    The domesday clock is ticking
I think the Cumberland Throw is still legal though as long as you grab the ball carrier with your hands first and use the leg second to bring the player down- if leg first it may be deemed a trip.

Part of their wrestling training should involve watching some classic WWF/WWE from the 80's as I am sure they can pick up some more new moves - mmm no Snakes ( Jake the Snake Roberts ) and no pieces of 4 x 2's (Hacksaw Jim Duggan ) or Guitars ( Honky Tonk Man ) allowed though as against NRL rules at least for now that is.

I think Allan McMahon only received a 4 week suspension for that tackle - I remember in 1977 -Minor Semi Chooks vs Balmain - Fairfax after kicking the ball downfield was coat hangered late by McMahon who was duly sent off- Chooks winning 26-2
