One of the ex-player commentators made reference to more players using cleats (?) for more grip but placing too much stress on knees.

We have had a lot of ACL injuries lately, would like to know what boots they were wearing.

As a physio, Teddy clearly wears boots with shallower studs to avoid increased friction with the grass and avoid ligamentous injuries. Theres not much evidence to back it up, but fact teddy seems like the type to look for any advantage, even if it's 1%.
