I grew up watching Debbie Spillane on the ABC.

Yeah she was a smart, funny chick and I liked her in spite of being a fanatical dogs fan.

ABC was a great organisation way back then. How far they've fallen - although I tuned into Roy and HG yesterday and laughed my ass off. They can keep their billion a year of taxpayer money just to keep Roy and HG on the air.

Why are people acting like head highs were condoned till recently? That’s nonsense..the difference between now and the early 2000s is that headknocks literally are the focus of the game now, it’s all that is talked about and it’s killing the game... the games are becoming predictable and crap.

the sport was being played more at schools 20 years ago than now, in fact kids are banned to play it on the school yard now at many schools. That to me is very telling... the world is becoming so wrapped up in wool and it will kill physical sports.

I can only talk from my time of growing up about playing footy & it was all to do with the dads who got their sons to play footy because at age 5,6 & 7 the game has no toughness to it at all, its little guys running around having fun. I fell off my bike at that age more & hurt myself then I did playing footy.
