Any chance it's a 2 for the price of 1 deal?? From the figures already suggested, we would be paying $1.5m per year for the two of them, what's the cap at the moment $4.5m? That means we'd need to fit 25 or so more players into the $3m that's left, because the increased salary cap is by no means a done deal, what with the developments with Optus last week, the TV rights deal is already being talked down from the estimated $1b + deal that has been bandied about, to closer to $750m, according to Roy Masters.

Giving this a bit more thought I would think that the figures we have heard for these players, would have to be dependant on the salary cap increase, so if the increase is not as large as we'd all hoped the $BW/QC deal may disappear into thin air! Might not be a bad thing either, as these two would have no loyalty to the great RW&B jersey, only to the $$$ !

sorry mate but almost every single player in the comp nowadays has loyalty to $$$ rather than the jersey. Times have changed unfortunately.

I still remember the stupidity of the then large payment of 100,000 bucks for Martin Offiah in 1993 before he dislocated his shoulder in the first match against Penrith.

Let's say we get Punchy the Clown and Quaalude, for 1.5 million say and Sonny Bill does his shoulder with those moronic shoulder charges of his and then Cooper re-aggravates his knee injury.

That's a more than a quarter of the salary cap pissed away.
