    Had enough?

Robbo will still be in his 40s even in 5 years time.

It’s quite an assumption to assume Robbo would have had enough in 3 or 4 years time. Unless of course you know something we don’t.

he can be our defensive coach earning $200-250k a year for the next 20 years. No pressure, no difficulties, no media scrutiny.

or he can go coach some flog side, be hounded when his foot players lose, and be fired inside of 3 seasons when they scapegoat him for his flog players playing shit at his flog club.

I just don’t see what’s in it for him outside of a larger salary for a short period of time
Most people with ambitions want a new challenge after a while

can’t begrudge Fitzy if he wants to prove himself, I’ll be cheering for him.....except for when they play the Roosters

fitzy doesn't want to end his coaching career thinking that he could have been a contender. either he's happy doing what he's doing atm for the rest of his coaching career or he wants to throw the dice. there are good arguments for both and only he can decide what's best for him

I wouldn’t begrudge him the opportunity to test himself if he has aspirations then he should fulfil them. If he doesn’t enjoy it then he can do a Jason Taylor and come back to us. He has served our club well and I personally will always hold him in the highest regard. Has always presented himself as a gentleman.

I'm not sure it's a done deal just yet. There is the issue of his coaching staff, which he wants to choose. Just because they make an offer of $1.5-$1.8mil over 2-3 years does not necessarily mean he'll jump.
But if he does then I will always respect him for his great service to the Roosters.

Gonna be sad to see him gone, I get a buzz every time they show robbo in the coaches box and I see Fitzy there with him... he is like connective tissue between the successes of modern seasons and the early 2000s era. I wish him all the best but I have a funny feeling we haven’t seen the last of him at easts.

Fitzy is is more qualified and has more credentials than most of the coaching stock in the NRL at the moment.

He's talked previously about moving back to France

Yeh but he could be meaning when he’s in his 70s.

He’s not going anywhere. Loves the NRL and loves his earning potential by being here. Who wouldn’t.

Fitzy deserves a shot at first grade coach.

                            Good on him, well deserved.
You got to take a gamble in life instead of saying what if.

Bellamy and Arthur went onto to ok coaches after being assistance and there is no reason Fitz won't as well

Some blokes are great assistant coaches though and struggle as a head coach, Trent Barrett is one but I see Fitz doing well as a head coach.

I hope it doesn't happen but it will, he will take some players with him, especially younger players that are looking to establish themselves and support staff, it is just they way these things pan out.

Will you be happy if he took a few Chooks with him if he gets the Sharks job?

Well, his got to get a head coach job somewhere , Robbo ain’t going sideways for him ......I hope he will end up like Brian McDermott who use to coach one of my other teams Leeds Rhinos , he was Tony Smiths assistant , and moved to Harlequins (London Broncos) before coming back to Leeds and getting 4 SL titles ! A club challenge and a 2 challenge cups, ...maybe Fitzy will come back and do similar ...who knows
