For those saying that we should be buying Gordon, I dont know what you are smoking. He is at the end of his carreer and only has maybe 3 years left. He ISNT a fullback, merely a winger. He is a decent winger and wouldnt mind if we singed him as a wing. But Gordon wants to play fullback and im sorry but he just doesnt offer anything at fullback...apart from his speed. Once Mini goes we should be replacing him with a quality fullback.
As for the SBW/Cooper deal, hopefully we get them both, I reckon they would be great. My only concern would be the $$$ we are paying them, but I have faith that Nick wont do anything too stupid...
Although Cooper had a poor WC I think he has a lot to offer, he has flair which we are currently lacking in our backs...and I think he will be more suited to Rugby League...lets not forget he is only young, so with some guidance I think he could be a top player. Possibly play him at fullback (i think he has the pace), or 5-8th, depending on who else we sign in other positions!!!

Gordon may be old but if compared to Cooper it is like comparing a Ferrari to a toyota corolla..
Your an idiot if you think that...you obviously havent seen any of the Super Rugby. Sure Cooper had a bad WC, but he is an absolute freak, here is your evidence:
He reminds me of an older benji marshall, lots of raw talent...just needs to work on his consistency. But with time I think that will come and as many have said league will suit his game much more.

He is crap. End of story.
Alcohol never solved any life problems.....then again neither did milk.
There is something frightening about 2012. I keep finding myself in agreement with Melon. Quade Cooper can go and fark himself. We don't need him and I can't imagine what he could possibly offer us. This bloke has the potential to be the biggest salary cap burglar since Braith Anasta.
He isn't crap, he has talent but he stands out more in that boring mundane game. He throws a flick pass the commentators rave on for 20 minutes while you would see a similar one in any Rugby League game.
He would struggle with the extra defence at 5/8 in League but could be very good at fullback. The problem who is going to pay that much for him and then wait for him to find his feet? IMO it isn't worth the risk but he is talented.
A 'crap' player doesnt win a Super Rugby competition, especially playing in the most vital position on the field.
A 'crap' player doesnt get selected to play for Australia.
Im all for signing him. Cant do any worse than what we already have.
Oh puhlease! If Matt Dunning can get picked to play for Australia in Rugby Yawnion than so can most of the Southern Hemisphere. Claiming Cooper can play simply because he got into the Wallabies is ludicrous. Out of the top 100 current Rugby League players...100 would be walk up Wallabies if they changed codes.

That is not true. The commentators in league are far more prone to hyperbole and exaggeration. The amount of times I've heard Gould, Sterling or Rabs tell everyone how what we've just seen is possibly the greatest try/tackle/win/effort of all time is stupid.
Also, take a look at the youtube video posted earlier in this thread. Cooper throws a good 15 metre flick and cut out pass to hit a guy on the chest to score a try. That practically never happens in league, and when it does, the commentators go off, with good reason.
I don't subscribe to the Cooper is crap theory. However, I still would prefer the club stayed away from him. He would demand an exorbitant amount of money, and if we wanted a seriously talented union import, Kurtley Beale would be better.

Gould is bad as well but the Rugby guys on Fox are pretty much cheerleaders just hoping to see some entertainment. I actually feel sorry for Marto and Kearns trying to explain another stupid scrum penalty while people around the country are changing the channel.

He is a lightweight with crap defense and decision making in crucial games. I want a guy who can actually come to the club and play fullback from week 1.
