Last night at the game we tried to do it from the get go and never changed to plan B.
Yeah I get it CM but I feel there is a difference in playing sideways, running across field and using the football to play expansive footy.

I disagree that passing the ball through the backline is playing sideways. It’s actually a decent tactic if you have someone straightening up into the defensive line. We did play sideways as our entire line was angling towards the sideline. That is the definition of playing sideways.

everything was executed 5 mtrs before the defensive line, not hard for a quality team to defend it.

We need more ball work in the middle to help our forwards, keep their markers from breaking, make their middle work harder, help our boys poke their nose through and get a quick play the ball.
Rads plus either Friend or Verills is what we need.

                        MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

I think it was just desperation TBH.

Teddy did most of it. I think he was searching for a linebreak to lift our spirits and it never came.

Souffs' defence within our 50 was great! Any techies know what they did? Notably it was shytehouse near their tryline. It's as if they stepped up closer or something and had less defenders behind the line? We scored quite easily when we got the chance to kick but we didn't get a lot of chances as they didn't let us break their line...

I think someone quoted Souffs Vermin play the ball speed was much quicker than the Chooks so Chooks players struggled to get back 10 and the defence line wasn't reacting and working as it should be allowing them to make more yardage in their sets. The old straight line of defence wasn't there.

The above also resulted in increased 6 again's in trying to slow down the play the ball and momentum.

Chooks sideways attack was easy to defend against as Souffs Vermin defence moved up quick as a straight line and worked as a unit with no lazy defenders or players rushing out of the line - Chooks needed to go through the middle and build the platform for their attack.

Chooks attack was too deep - starting 5 or so metres behind the play the ball enabling the fast moving straight line defence to limit yardage and going sideways as well made gaining yardage even harder as there was no chinks or creases in the defensive line as there was vs Manly and Wests Tigers.

Chooks were playing suit and tie footy when overall footy was required.
