Has he had a fall out with uncle Nick? The last couple of years he's had nothing positive to say about us and tonight on 100% footy he pointed out that we've just beaten Manly and the Tigers and then he brought up that 60-8 debacle which anyone with half a brain could see that we had our minds off that game and just went through the motions. I was pissed off that we lost like that but I can still recognise the reasons we got thumped. We all know what Roosters we'll see on Friday. I hope we do it just for Gus.

I don't understand why you are triggered by this. Firstly, who cares but seriously it is all true. That loss last year was one of the most painful I can remember in over 40 years of following the Chooks. Manly and Tigers are both dogshit and we flogged them accordingly.

Yes we beat average teams but we put them both away as we should have.
Look at the other top contenders.
Panthers - beat arguably the worst two teams in the first two rounds.
Storm - beat Souths then lost to a very average Eels team. Hardly look convincing and their right side is one of the worst in the comp.
Raiders - Struggled to beat one of the easy-beats that we beat easily then probably should have lost to the Sharks who many rate a non-Top 8 team.
Souths - Were blown away by Storm early in the game and then caught up a bit but still lost. Just got away at the end from an easy-beat that we put away easily.
Eels - Just got away from last year's wooden spooners yet still carried on like they just won a prelim. Beat the Storm but I could have out-jumped Jennings twice as well and my feet don't come up more than 6 inches off the ground. Pretenders again.

Can't see any of the other teams as contenders and I only added the Eels because there are a few talking about them.

EDIT: We have Rads, Crichton, Verrills, Friend, Cordner and Walker to come.

Not a fan of Gus but is that's all he said its all true. The two teams we have played wont be there at the pointy end and getting beat by the Vermin 60 - 8 was a disgrace that should never been allowed to happen. There was no pride shown that game.

The whole season was a mess...not only that game.
We were rebuilding after Cronk's departure....and without our "lethal left side".
We are still rebuilding, and now Friend and Cordner are missing.
Keary is 7 not 6, we're trying to settle on a 6, and a hooker.
We are by no means the team of 2018/2019.
Sometimes the opposition on the day is just too good, every trick shot they try comes off and you get slaughtered.
That's sport.
Our players were tired last season...physically and mentally.
We finished higher than Souths on the comp ladder, and higher than them after the finals.
Storm won the comp, everyone else "lost".
Let them wear their 60-8 Tshirts, they won
nothing.

Yes we beat two easy beats but have the vermin done any better?
Did we comprehensively smash those easybeats or just scrape in?
Did we beat those easybeats more convincingly than the media darling Riff's victories against their easybeat competition?

Nah, just excuses old mate , if you get beat by 20 that's a flogging , almost 60 is a distance , a blight on the famous club that will be there forever.Not the end of the world but still a disgrace

Re Gus, I hear what you are saying Ray. It always amazed me how he's pummelled us in recent years even when we are doing well. (Maybe he should join the Chookpen)

But nowadays I jusr expect it from him, so the shock value is gone.

Its a bit of jealousy that he never even made a GF with us with strong talent, compared to Robbos legacy. He's a bit of a social media queen these days too and we know thats about getting the backslaps and avoiding the boos. Knocking Easts is very popular.

Incorrect, I go for the Chooks (I love them) & I like the other 15 teams.
