I hope Lam proves me wrong and ends up being a long term halves option for our Club, but based on what I’ve seen of him thus far I just don’t see it happening!

The skepticism of Lam isn't egregious by any means. And yes, Walker clearly has a higher ceiling and is the long term option.
I just think Lam deserves at least a solid 6 weeks as a starting half in first grade before we make a judgment and seek to have Walker replace him. Surely he, or any young player, deserves that much.
One thing is clear - Robbo & his teammates clearly have faith in young Lam.

I think people are missing the point with Lam- you can't have two halves the same with both wanting to be the dominant half it doesn't work - Keary is the dominant half and Lam the second fiddle so to speak.
It's like what Phil Gould said about Adrian Lam -He signed John Simon to play half back when the Chooks had Adrian Lam on the books as he didn't really know much about him or maybe didn't rate him? - Adrian Lam worked in well with both Walker and Fittler when they played 5/8' as they were the dominant half and he Lam so to speak played the second fiddle.
Lucky some on here aren't selectors or the coach as they would be making so many team changes every week and for the daftest of reasons as well as picking players for First grade when they are certainly not ready this season at least.
Oh Friend threw a forward pass from dummy half so he's dropped to reserve grade as one poster was suggesting he should be - seriously !!!!! others after the reggies trial against the raiders had Walker playing half and Suaalii on the wing vs Manly in the NRL - they were serious too.
They should stick to playing supercoach one suggests.

Lam did what he had to do , he's a good defender and snuffed out some Manly raids with solid one on one defence on our line. I thought his kicking game was on song and we went right all evening as Keary, Teddy , Manu and bmoz had a field day going at manlys left edge.
I'm looking forward to what Sam Walker can do but I'm happy to trust Robbo's judgement as Sam would definitely get spotted in defence with his size by edge backrowers.
The boys love Lam and have confidence in him , let's give him a fair crack before calling for his head.
On to the positives tonight I thought the boys were superb albeit against a manly team that struggled without turbo tom and fonua-blake.
Our back 5 are as good as anyone's with Toups leading the way out of our end.
Teddy and Keary are going to love the uptempo new rules and the Morris boys are fantastic footy players with their sense of anticipation and ability to be in the right place at the right time.
The forwards punched holes up front led by SST and Collins was solid. Jared was aggressive off the bench and Butcher did a heap of work.
Gus was a beast on the edge.
I Was happy that dsf got some minutes at the end and made good yardage though he will have to work on his marker defence.
Goal kicking is going to be costly against the better teams and another head knock to Jake is a major concern.
Great that the footys back and hopefully the political crap can take a backseat now the seasons started.

Last year we were slow out of the blocks and got left behind.
Game 2 we lost to Manly...a Manly player ("turbo"?) nearly took Morris' or Teddy's head off to save a try..."great tackle" said the commentators.
Short, sharp forearm jolts to the heads of our players in tackles on their way to the ground, and decking our kickers high and late are common these days.
Time to make other teams stop doing it.
Isn't it amazing how the commentators call "great tackle" when the opposition hit us head high when we are about to score a try?
When it is done against any other team , commentators call it an "illegal tackle"/" penalty" , "send off offence" etc.
But when its the Roosters on the receiving end, even the referees join in on the party, with the same outcomes for us.
Does anyone remember last 2020 finals game Vs Raiders when we got eliminated and our year was over?
Josh Morris is screaming towards the Canberra tryline and is certain to score . Therese (Charlize?) Nicoll Klokstad comes across and collars Morris with a coathanger, right around the neck and takes him over the sideline. It was so bad that Morris's legs got lifted off the ground in the tackle. It made me sick to watch it
What did the commentators say - yep, "great tackle" - ref " fair tackle"
Charlize (Therese) got his just desserts the following game against the Storm . He tried his chest high/ head high tackling technique on Dale Finucane - Finucane just ran over the top of him, on the way to the tryline.
I can't stand Nicoll Klockstadt. I expect more of the same head high stuff when we play the Raiders next time.
By the way, I apologise to any of the female readers on our forum who take offence to my post . I nickname Charlize " Therese" because he can't tackle, and he tackles like a girl.(sexist, I know) . Come to think of it, I have seen lots of girls that can tackle better than this guy, anyway.

good luck to the kid, i hope he does well , if he becomes a great half all the better for the team , but the performance tonight was not good enough.
