He shouldn’t have gotten life membership. Nothing to do with this thread’s theme or anything, I just think that two seasons is not enough.

Correct, what he is doing now must be with the full approval of the club, the guy deserves to earn a living and he is a specialist halves and leadership coach, we aren't going to offer him 40 hours a week, so he can do 8 hours a week at 5 clubs as far as I am concerned. Nothing to do with his being given life membership, he earned that. If you feel the need to bag a great guy who gave his all for our club then have a look at yourself, not him

right, I don't really have much of an issue with it in theory I just am a bit confused due to the whole life time membership thing... uncle nick made a huge deal about making him a life time member and then announcing he would be part of our training team.. so I guess I ASSUMED he was a Rooster 100% now... if it wasnt for all that then this wouldnt shock me at all.

I assumed being given Life Time Membership by nick was reserved for players/people who bleed red white and blue....guess it isnt.

Maybe he has the earning potential by doing what he is doing that Nick cannot justify or will not match? A life member is one thing but muzzling a guys ability to make a living is asking too much.

In saying that, if hes helping the storm then stuff him. Should never have come here! lol Give back ya rings ya gronk!

Cooper is the maan!
He won me two premierships, one with a broken shoulder.
The little lady who sits in the recliner just informed me that she saw on our tv screen recently Cooper and Walker together.
She also said she read an article in which Walker said that Cooper is helping him.

Melbourne posted on there Instagram that coops was helping run the training session for the storm... I thought Cooper was a life time member and was part of the training team with us? A bit confused and I may be looking too much into it but I’m not sure I like the idea of someone who would know all our strategies training a team who is a legit threat for the title.

yes I know guys like Andrew John’s bounce around from team to team but Cronk being honoured a life membership makes this kinda strange to me and I guess uncle nicks offer to be with us full time fell apart due to COVID? Shame if wears sharing his services.

The issue is that he is on a 6 figure contract with the Roosters coaching staff. To be involved with another teams field session and also giving individual coaching sessions to a player or players on that opposition team to me seems unethical. I find it disrespectful to the trust that the Roosters have put in him. Some on here would probably disagree but to me it’s not the right thing to do and I am actually shocked and extremely disappointed that Cronk is doing this. I thought he had integrity but obviously I was wrong.

Of course he would of & the Chooks would of said okay so forget about integrity. People are consultants in all sorts of work environments & they can consult for who ever they like to make money. I disagree with what you are saying. I don’t believe for one minute that the Roosters would be ok with Cronk coaching Storm players whilst being contracted to coach our halves. Anyway we shall see in the coming days/weeks what will be the outcome if this.

Cronk owes Melbourne a lot, I don’t think anyone can begrudge him passing on some tips to his mates in his spare time.

We don’t own him. He happened to be down there for their season lunch event and gave some tips at a training session before he left.
