And btw tracksuit - this is quickly becoming one of the greatest grenades ever thrown into this site. Could have only been better if you stayed out of it completely after the original post - grabbed a bucket of pop corn a boysenberry choc top( can I say choc top) and a large coke and sat back and watch it all unhinge.

I honestly would love to see him in the RWB even if just for one or two years which in all honesty is probably what's left in him anyway.

So what if it was someone expressing their love for a child? Does that make it ok if its about love?

For the record, that shyt is never ok.

Teachers would cane lefties and make them do playground duty etc to force them to write right handed when i went to school -primary- we had our share of nutty kids but a greater percentage of nutty teachers.

I remember when i was a milk monitor (the days when Schools were provided free milk ) - had to get there early to put the milk into these specially built brick units to hold the milk - I would drink a few of them as there was always more than what was needed as they were still cold- loved milk and still do.

I often said to the relevant teachers on duty for this why don't we give the milk out to the kids when they first arrive at School - oh no can't do that it has to be at play lunch ( 11 am to 11:15 am )- dumb teachers

By the time the milk was giving out it was warm and even warmer in the spring and summer months and kids were sick as a result - many brought in notes from Parents saying they can't drink the milk anymore and the whole thing fell apart and Whitlam stopped it in the end.

Don't know why Australia didn't go down the same path as the UK with free School lunches as more and more kids are attending schools not having had breakfast and no lunch.

Yes, I think it's a dog act to sledge a minority group that's regularly exposed to violence and discrimination.

As noted... he's not a religious leader, he's got no religious qualifications and he belongs to a fringe cult that associates with Christianity. I have broader issues with these cults (that do a lot of home studies...etc and are ALWAYS about money) because they have a habit of judging/criticising rather than loving people. After my divorce I remember going to a similar home study group and being told I was a sinner who was going to hell because I'd divorced my wife (who tried to kill me) + was definitely not allowed to start dating again because I'd be polluting innocent women's minds. Quite frankly these groups don't represent mainstream Christian views and their messaging often isn't very tactful/inclusive/loving.

Not calling for them to be banned, but I think there's an obvious reason why their only prime time coverage is when they cause public outrage by marginalising disadvantaged cohorts. Why? Because their messaging is inconsistent with the two things mainstream bible bashers will preach...
              1. Love everybody as equals.
              2. We are all sinners, so don't point fingers.

Whether you believe in him or not, that's what God allegedly said. Not 'GAYS ARE SINNERS... THEY WILL BURN IN HELL!!!!'

Oh yes finally... I'm very proud that Sydney's major gay hubs are in the Eastern Suburbs. Growing up, 1/2 my neighbours (probably more) were gay and I have fond memories of what they did to make my childhood in the Eastern Suburbs to special. It would be a dog act for me to turn my back on them and support some westie (who played for QLD? Totes random). As an Easts supporter... I stand in unity with my brothers, sisters and all others who separate this place from the conservative shyteholes. IMO a bloke who can't do that doesn't belong at Bondi because we're a club with a rich culture/history and we look out for our constituents!!!!

[80% of Australia... 'SO WELL SAID!!! HELL YES!!! SO TOUCHING HOW THE EAST HAS THAT KINDA CULTURE!!! Great speech...]

[2 or 3 outspoken freaks on here... GO AWAAAY!!! BOOOO!!! IT WAS JUST A TWEET!!! YOU ARE KILLING FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!! THE NUMBERS WERE RIGGED AND NOBODY WANTED GAY MARRIAGE!!!!

              ...

20 pages + many more threads later

IT WAS ONLY A TWEET!!! I AM JUST STANDING UP FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM!!! IT IS FARKED THAT THE POOR GUY NOW HAS TO BE HOMELESS AND LIVE ON THE STREETS BECAUSE OF THIS!!! I AM GONNA KEEP REPEATING MYSELF AND YOU WON'T SILENCE ME... NO... YOU WON'T SILENCE ME!!! I WILL KEEP REPEATING MYSELF!!! IT WAS ONLY A TWEET blah... blah.. bl... b...]

The noise fades off into distant echos as I put my headphones on and start cranking some gay anthems from Dob Downe's Greatest Hits.

And there you go again leaving out the whole list . You seem very concerned about people that suicide because they are gay and bullied and so we all should but not the ones that suicide or murdered or simply live in poverty or squalor because there spouse , father , mother or whoever choose to be druggies , alcoholic , domestic violence , or gambler's that Izzy was mentioning in his speech . I am concerned for all not just one group .

If you think it’s a lifestyle choice, then think again. I have been told by several gay people first hand that they have no control over it and with the wisdom of years can see that were gay way before puberty hit.

So if this is true, why is it acceptable to bash them? You may as well bash someone for being left handed.
Alcoholics have no control over they alcohol addiction either, some drugs addicts the same with their drugs, heavy cigarette smokers seems to have little control either, heavy gamblers also. So are you gonna tell us all these things have nothing to do with choice?

Been Gay is a choice, as is almost everything. There is no gay gene, if so how come there are ex-gays out there. Like every bad choice, there are ways to overcome.

Now watch the insults fly lol..

At least you're being honest and we can now do away with the "freedom of speech!" cover story that many here have been crying about.

As I say, it comes down to whether you believe being gay is a conscious, amoral choice, vs an out-of-the-individual's-hands issue.

Alcoholics have no control over they alcohol addiction either, some drugs addicts the same with their drugs, heavy cigarette smokers seems to have little control either, heavy gamblers also. So are you gonna tell us all these things have nothing to do with choice?
Nice – I was waiting for that comment from someone.

Absolutely, I agree that there has to be a balance between an individual's moral culpability and his uncontrollable urges.

But we're talking about young people here though. 10 year olds, 15 year olds, that sort of thing. Kids growing up feeling like shit, believing they are immoral freaks and being bullied daily – often bashed – without having any control over the issue they're being bullied about. Those other issues (alchoholism, cigarettes, gambling) are not relevant in this context.

I'd say that once we eradicate the marginalisation of gay people to the point that queer kids feel safe and happy that we should then tackle the scourge that is denigrating that gravely marginalised group, gamblers and drinkers.

The most persecuted groups today are those based around religion so to deny Israel the opportunity to be employed because of his beliefs is in turn a dog act. It wasn't too long ago that an employer could not discriminate in the workplace due to ones religious beliefs. Now, if you are religious you are the problem.

I get a lot of what you are saying ism. Some of my best mates are gay however, I struggle to put our great club on a moral platform when it comes to recruiting certain players. In the context of things, I think Israel would be the very least of our concerns in relation to moral standings.
