  • All 3 grades on weekend game days

There’s talk of bringing back all three grades to Sat and Sun games. That’d be reason enough to get to the game early, especially with some of our young players coming through.

It’ll allow some to have a qualified opinion if a player is knocking on the door of first grade selection.
The NRL is looking to go old school with the configuration of game days, vowing to bring back all three gra...
    ..it’ll be interesting to see

And bring back the Amco Cup while they're at it.

Not sure how this would work with our arrangement with the Bears given that they would want to play the bulk of their home games at North Sydney Oval?

Could only be for Saturday and Sunday games as who would be venturing out early on a Thursday or Friday to watch the lower grades -there are things such as work and school.

Could do this for under 21's on those days but not sure how it works for the Canterbury Cup with teams having feeder clubs playing at other home grounds such as Norths and Newtown for instance and they play these mainly on saturdays -maybe they want the reserve grade team to have the same name as the NRL club.

Nine i understand wont be showing the Canterbury Cup games which is i assume why the NSWRL is live streaming them.

But not a delayed telecast though - Used to switch on the radio at 10:00 pm as they would give the final score in the sport report. The game started at 7:30pm with the delayed telecast on 10 starting at 8:30 pm.

I dont know how it would work unless every club has their own 1st, 2nd 3rd grade teams, otherwise you will be watching different clubs 2nd & 3rd grade teams prior to the Roosters game.

Fantastic - go back in time to grass roots rugby league, when everybody loved the game, and we saw future stars on the paddock in lower grades.
Whilst you are there, scrap the bulls**t like 6 again, and 40/20 , and the game will go from being touch footy, to being a man's game - even better.

                      Why would that matter?

Because I dont want to watch other clubs feeder clubs playing before the Roosters, Norths v who ever, yes but I dont want to watch Parramatta's feeder club playing the Bulldogs feeder club prior to the Roosters game.

It would only ever be the Bears vs our fg opponents reserves....wouldn't it? Unless Im missing something.

Like I posted earlier “I dont know how it would work unless every club has their own 1st, 2nd 3rd grade teams, otherwise you will be watching different clubs 2nd & 3rd grade teams prior to the Roosters game.”
If it’s the teams in the Canterbury Cup that are the 2nd grade teams then it won’t work because there is only 12 of them I think. What will happen is North’s will be playing the Parra’s feeder club on the undercard to Parra v Cowboys game whilst the Roosters NRL team will be playing the Bulldogs who feeder club are playing Newtown before 1st grade.

Ok...no doubt it would be a huge logistical exercise and could even be a bridge too far with the structures of the current comps.

At best, it would only be some, not all, games having 3 grades together on a given weekend.

May not eventuate, but watch PVL he moves and shakes.
