Hindsight and thinking time is a great thing....or maybe not....haha. I think we would've gone better with Hutch in the latter half of the season than Flanagan. He was 'O' in his first game, (as there was no reserve grade), but with more game time, I think he would've been able to create the 'foil' that Keary needed. He takes the line on, can pass at the line, solid D, average kicking game (same as Flan), just as slow as Flan, problem was...who kicks goals?

The Broncos are wanting to off load Matt Lodge from the last 3 years of his contract. He is on 800k per season & the Broncos are prepared to pay half his salary for the next 3 years that means you can sign him for 400k per year, he is worth that.

He is not bad as a player, but still overrated and well down the pecking order of 1stgrade props.

And I know we have taken chances on troublesome lads (Ferguson etc), but there is something genuinely off about Lodge in the upstairs department.

Not to mention he was a key member of the leadership group of the rabble called the Brisbane Broncos this year.

Not sure if Matt Lodge is the ideal body type and type of player that could match the speed of the game as it stands now and moving forward. Matt's better off heading over to the UK (Super League) plus we've got a "no d*ckheads policy" and I'm sure he wouldn't fit our culture.


Daniel Fifita and Lindsay Collins will be good enough moving forward plus Isaac Liu can switch back to the bench as a 2RF/FRF option as Radley will come back into starting lock.

I am a bit indifferent on these three signings TBH. Hutch is okay, but will purely be a backup if injuries force our hand. I don't know anything about the others, but do trust our club's judgement. I also hope Angus gets re-signed ASAP!

On Lodge, absolutely no way hosay! Bloody hell, no thanks!

Yeah IMO Fergo and Carney were just immature and obnoxious when drunk. However, neither were bad people who intentionally went out there to hurt anybody, While they ended up hurting people, it was through stupidity and their own reputations were damaged the most outta it.

Lodge is just a straight out thug. IMO there's a bit of a badboy rebound effect going on. Nobody knew him before he went on a violent rampage in the USA and people have had their eyes on his form ever since (while he's been trying to prove himself). Would you puck him over Cords, Crichton, Radley, SST, JWH, Liu, Collins, Butch, Sitili...etc though? I wouldn't. So why would anybody pay him $800k? That's almost what Teddy's on... he's simply not a marquee player who you'd wanna build a team around.

TBH it's a massive disgrace what most of those have done (or are alleged to have done in some cases). Most have either belted the shyte outta somebody (good chance of that being their partner, invariably a petite woman with a model-like, ultra-feminine, stick-like frame), violently raped somebody or conspired to sell a massive quantity of drugs.

You can add fukking Gordon, LOD and Watts to that list too! Two of those guys had reputations as inherently 'awesome dudes' on the field too (like real diamond in the rough style mature blokes who are faithful & provide a steady rudder for the team). I'm no feminist but I'm starting to get why they hate the suggestion that 'he's a good man'. Some of the nicest people can turn out to be arseholes.
