I don't agree. I think he desperately wanted to stay. The mistake he made was trying to bluff Nick and Robbo when he had a pair of twos and they had four aces - not to mention his "advisor" was desperate to deliver him to Souffs.

Agreed. That agent was a flog. Basically his first move as an agent was to:
- Turn down a take it or leave it $800k deal to play centre
- Get turned down by the Tigpies and Souffs
- End up with his player taking less money to play FB with a lesser club

There were rumours a year before that Matt Rose was trying to get him to Souffs. Then Latrell went with that agent from the central coast and it took some time to white ant him out of the picture so they could steer Latrell to Souffs again. I suspect that those advising Latrell knew exactly what the response would be when he said he wanted to test the market when we had a handshake deal with him. That was part of the plan and, for them, it worked. For Latrell? Not so good.

I reckon Latrell growing up always wanted to play for Souths. He's a world class player, game breaker but he aint better than Teddy at FB, its just a shame it didnt work out with him & the Chooks.
