  • Benji wants to be a Rooster

    According to Danny Weidler:

    "Benji's Bondi rescue

The reason Benji Marshall knocked back an offer from the Cowboys is that his contract with Fox Sports is worth too much to leave Sydney. Marshall’s management has approached the Roosters and he would play for the Bondi club for as little as $150,000."

Comes as no surprise. Would love to see him in RW&B.

Can kick goals and be a match winner on his day. But a bit of a turnstile in defence.
Could be a good depth signing and worth a shot is our cap allows ...

We have enough 34 plus year olds.

He should be offering to pay us $150k.

Would let in more tries than goals he would kick.

it's funny - a decade ago he was one of the best players in the world. then he lost confidence or something and has been a mixed bag ever since.

the biggest hurdle for us winning the comp next year is the absence of a premiership winning half to complement keary. i don't know if benji has another premiership winning season in him but he could go alright.

150k, absolute bargain. We have 3 untested halves and a head knock away from losing keary.

for that price, it is a no brainer.

Would rather see Benji in the halves for us than Hutchinson

I'm a fan, we need experience on the right side more than anything else and he has the knowledge. Keary is pretty much a one man band, stop him and you stop much of the attack as we saw. Benji's certainly not the Cronkster in D but who is? Young dynamic Halves are a rarity and the 'Riff have the pick of the best younguns atm, we seem to be trying to pick a winner and Trent's acumen notwithstanding, we didn't find one in Flanno. Is Foran spoken for in 2021?

I reworded this post for Thirteen.

Didn't everyone complain how shit a defender our previous halfback was? Benji is on another level.
I hope we aren't that stupid.
