I remember hearing a while back that JWH has a chronic sternum injury, and if it wasn't for a specially designed chest brace he probably would have had to retire a few years ago. In any case, he admitted even back in 2016 that he plays with chronic pain.

JWH is 31 and busted. 100% guarantee he will retire at the end of 2023 (which is when his contract with us expires), but I also wouldn't be shocked to lose him before then.

He certainly wont be the player he has been by then. I think by around Rd 5 or 6 Collins will be a starting prop, could even be from Rd 1.

Will be a shame to see him go. Such a tough player who we could always rely on to take a run, to make that extra tackle even when fatigued, etc. You might not win a premiership with a team full of Cordner's - you do need some 'X Factor' - but you also don't win a premiership without at least one or two Cordner's...

          • Their rumour person 'the postman' had mail on this 3 weeks ago straight after game three apparently
          • Jimmy's main 'mail' is that Crichton is no longer on the market (regarding the rumour that the Roosters were shopping him around to other clubs for next year)
          • Therefore the Roosters salary cap problems must be solved
          • Therefore Cordner must be retiring
          Cordner is not retiring.

Sad but he can't play on, Shirley.

Heard a podcast with Sam Burgess and they asked him his 5 toughest rivals and JWH made the list. Burgess said that he wanted to hurt you when you had the ball, but the thing he admired most about him was that he would give you every opportunity to get one back on him when he had the ball. Artie was a special front rower and we might never see one like him again but JWH has been the next best prop I have seen wear our colours.

Ive been saying this all along but people on here have said that no Rooster player wants to intentionally hurt the opposition & thats why the Roosters are a nice clean club with no grubs.
You only win comps when you have players that try & want to intentionally hurt the opposition.

Hurt ? Yes 100%, every player should be trying to hurt their opposition , but not intentionally injure them. That’s the difference between a tough player and a grub. JWH is tough but no grub.

There was no allusion, I knew what you were talking about.
I know you like reading the paper.
The Roosters were rumoured to be looking to offload the second-rower, who is on an estimated $900,000 per year for 2021, but is unsigned beyond that.
But according to senior reporter Danny Weidler on the Big Sports Breakfast, that stance appears to have changed.

I never mentioned intentionally injuring them. Read my post again, I said intentionally hurt the opposition.
