No mincing of words found here. Hammer meets nail. I don't think there is anything I could add besides Lol@Souffs!!!
I really love your name - Blue Suede Schubert - best ever I think. . Ian signed my 'Where the Sun Also Rises' book.
“If there is one thing I cannot stand is snobbery. People who try and pretend they’re superior. Makes it hard for those of us who really are.” - Hyacinth Bucket.
A couple of things that influence my call on the kids character.
The asking of ridiculously stupid money as a 17 year old, its either him or his parents.
As a Kings student there is a good chance its likely he is not a of great character anyway. A school that sets very poor examples in terms of integrity
I hope I am wrong, but on the surface there seems to be a lot of baggage
The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

I have nothing about the kids character, just believe we are putting to much hope into an untested young player , prove your worth in all aspects of life before you get to be a top dog .We have players who have busted the ass for the club for much less and in my opinion that causes conflict down the track .
This kid will be a success.
To judge his character KB on the fact he attened Kings is pretty harsh. Thats like saying all Priests are pedos...its only about 80% of them. I will give him the benefit of the doubt at this stage

Thanks redwhiteblue. I haven't read that book maybe so I should look it up. Great player.
I never met Shoey myself but I did meet Kevin Junee when my mum took me to get my first Roosters jersey from his sports store and the great man himself served us. Ron Coote was present at my junior clubs presentation day when I was under 7s and he presented to me my very first trophy. Also met Bill Mullins outside the sheds watching the lower grades at the Sports Ground. All pretty surreal looking back on it now.

I haven't met Ian either but one of the guys from a neighbouring business (Manly fan, go figure) is mates with him as they used to play squash together every Monday night so he got the autograph for me. Wow..Ron Coote presenting you with a trophy is a wonderful memory.

I bumped into Ron Coote a couple of times - as a kid and grown up. Nicest bloke you could ever meet.
Haha in cootes last game ..vague here at the old sports ground. I ran on the field with countless other kids to congratulate my hero..tapped him on the shoulder said congrats Ronny ...he turned around and said ..**** off...lol..think he was pissed as they lost
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

I am assuming you must have been sitting in on the negotiations, otherwise how else would you know what he was asking? Unless you believe what's in the Newspapers or what someone from Souths might have claimed but I would expect you to know better than that.

I wish I went to Kings. I'm a result of a lousy public school education.

It is a privilege to have gone to a great school. The vast majority of us had parents that sacrificed so much because in their judgment system they placed high value on private education. It never means we are better. We just have a different upbringing. And from one of the schools i went to; it was significantly different to now. But the people I went to school with at one school are some of the best people Ive met because of the experience we endured.

I honestly would have loved the opportunity. when I was 18 I went to college with a bunch of guys that had come from Kings, Shore and Cranbrook. I didn't even really know such schools existed until then.
