  • After settling down after Friday.........

I have to say that the shock of losing 60-8 is as strong as it was on Friday. What the f#&k happened????? This champi onship defense to be taken apart in such a savage manner is something I thought could never possibly happen. Our reputation as a giant of the NRL has been dented to such an extent that no team in the finals fear us. Why hasn't Trent Robinson come out to tell the Roosters fans what happened? I thought this team was a juggernaught, I thought we'd seen the last of totally cringeworthy performances like we saw on Friday night. I'm going to cop all the fairweather crap, I know that, but for the life of me, I can't see how we can pick ourselves up off the canvas in such a short time. Our goose is cooked, I wouldn't be surprised if we go out winless from here. I hope with all my being that I'm wrong, but I can't see it.

I can. Keep the faith Ray, we will be right. Easts to win!
    MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

        Always loved your passion Coggy.
The previous 6 games we were something like 190-60.
Watch some of the highlights of last week and you can see the guys were pedestrian. To me it was orchestrated to save themselves from a high intensity game that Souths would bring which could have flattened us for this big game. But the momentum they got through possession blew the score way out. All our previous 3 premierships we have lost in the last or second last rounds to average teams after a long run of wins. Not by that margin of course. Robbo has a habit of giving them a soft run leading into the big games.
The score line or our performance didn't bother me on the night. I expected history to repeat.
        I hope I am right.

We didn’t lose the 3peet, we didn’t lose the GF, we didn’t even lose a finals game. We lost a regular game that the only thing that mattered was pride for losing to souffs for that much. But I’m sure that the both games we lost last year, (and without checking last years score) if we added both scores of the regular season games, it probably is just as much ...pfft! Big deal! Of course Souffs fans will make a lot out of this much like they carry on about 21 Premierships, 20 of them being in the dark ages, but that’s all they have. They’re fixated with ancient history and the odd game they beat us... We have real NRL Trophies.

All those fans jumping off a building like if the big depression has hit them, then they really have no faith in the club. It’s all good when things are sweet, but the minute it turns sour, even for one game, they just lose it. Imagine if & when we are really out of the comp, what rubbish is going to come out? They’ll be asking for Robbos head!

You sound like you need a lie down.

I admire your passion - great to have supporters like you - but you are also the kneejerk who claimed Jayden Nikorima was the Rooster's saviour.

Bottom line is, Robbo's tenure is statistically the most successful the Eastern Suburbs Roosters have had in their 100+ year history. We've smashed countless defence and attacking records, won three premierships within a decade, and countless incredible moments in between.

Like all things, 2021 will see a rebuild starting. But we've still got Robbo, still got Uncle Nick, and we've got either Fitzy or Cooper Cronk to lead our mighty team once Robbo has to go back to France.

We are ****ing lucky mate. So lucky. So many great memories over the past few years, all thanks to our great team/club and the incredible people in it. We stand tall and proud, against all odds. Against the countless tall poppy knockers and vultures in the media and from other clubs. Fk em.

The only thing i was worried about in the wake of the 60+ shellacking was whether there as an internal cultural rift. I understand that isnt the case. And as such.............

Relax, and enjoy our win against the Panthers on Friday.

It'll be tight, but we'll jag it.

Winning games in finals requires clever gameplay and tactics not blitzing and running out of gas like we did against souths. My concern is that the boys will be way too eager to redeem themselves in order to focus properly and end up blitzing again tiring themselves when they need to play composed, smart and calculated footy. Rushing to try and rack up a big score backfired. They tried to wrap up the game in the first 10 minutes then ran out of gas. They forgot that the other team is fresh early on in the game, not a time to swoop in for the kill. You do that when they tire. Do that again and it’ll be a cricket score.

Gee whiz you need to get a grip seriously man, how much sleep have you had all week? Have you slept at all? That loss isn’t terminal it’s not the end of the world that team will not show up Friday night it’s the perfect cover, even if we lose won’t much in it just relax man.

Totally new competition begins Thursday and we have everything to play for as opposed to last week. Sit down and chill pour yourself a glass of scotch or maybe ten (for you) and enjoy.

After the game I chilled out, had a few beers and got over what had happened. Totally different ball game now, it’s the finals and it’s where we stepped up massively in both 2018 and 2019, expecting a step up this year as well but it will be a tough game.

I fell asleep just after halftime and couldn’t give a rats what the result was. We aren’t claiming a title with a final round win. This is no Charity Shield.

we are going for the 3peat.

                      we will win.

we through this game,,,,Robbo also said he gave the boys 4days off during the week leading up to the game so he obviously didn’t get them up for it on purpose,,we treated this game as a bye round,,didnt you notice the first10mins we were all over them then the signal gets sent from the coaches box for us to settle down.
Souffs have blew their load before even undressing for the big dance while we are just about to get AROUSED!!!!

I think you will get a nice surprise on Friday night.

Also the scoreline was misleading. It was clear we were down on energy but they scored four tries in the last ten minutes to blow it out. Three of them straight through Aubbo and Ick that won't be there anymore. That was on the back of 12-2 penalties/infringements (with one of our restarts coming with 30 seconds left in the first half) and only 6% of possession in the last fifteen minutes of the first half. Robbo had them going into the game saving themselves for next week and then all that came together.

Let Souffs enjoy their moment in the sun. We have a bigger prize in mind.

That’s the part that confuses me. Super for ten minutes and the opposite for 70. Deliberate? I hope so.
