We have really been hammered over the past few weeks with penalties and 6 agains.

Do you have any insight on whether we have had discussions with Annersley about it?

Loved by few, hated by many, respected by all.

Also the scoreline was misleading. It was clear we were down on energy but they scored four tries in the last ten minutes to blow it out. Three of them straight through Aubbo and Ick that won't be there anymore. That was on the back of 12-2 penalties/infringements (with one of our restarts coming with 30 seconds left in the first half) and only 6% of possession in the last fifteen minutes of the first half. Robbo had them going into the game saving themselves for next week and then all that came together.

Let Souffs enjoy their moment in the sun. We have a bigger prize in mind.

      Go Easts

      Trust in Trent
That’s the only thing that bugs me about the 6 again rule where an attacking team gets a 6 again in the last minute and the defending team know well that there isn’t enough time to go through those 6 or even give away a penalty or sin bin, so they just lie all over the tackle until the time runs out and that could be a crucial last minute for the attacking side.

It does have that old Easts feeling about it, I agree.

We'll know on Friday whether it was an aberration.

This champi onship defense to be taken apart in such a savage manner is something I thought could never possibly happen. Our reputation as a giant of the NRL has been dented to such an extent that no team in the finals fear us. Why hasn't Trent Robinson come out to tell the Roosters fans what happened? I thought this team was a juggernaught, I thought we'd seen the last of totally cringeworthy performances like we saw on Friday night. I'm going to cop all the fairweather crap, I know that, but for the life of me, I can't see how we can pick ourselves up off the canvas in such a short time. Our goose is cooked, I wouldn't be surprised if we go out winless from here. I hope with all my being that I'm wrong, but I can't see it.
Agree love the passion but mate you have gone off like a robbers dog . As soon as Jake was injured the rest of the team seemed to say bugger it , we have nothing to gain here , which is not the normal Roosters way . Half hearted tackles , sloppy defense and so many errors in attack. There is a much bigger picture here and that's a 3peat. If after Friday night we have a similar result to last week I MAY come around to your way of thinking but probably not even then. But until then I still believe we are on track and can win this thing.
          Go the Roosters

could this be a masterstroke from Robbo having the boys hurt from the big lost into a back-to-wall attitude for the rest of Finals campaign?

I gotta say , I'm not as bullish as some here about our chances on Friday night. 60 8 definitely isn't a regular scoreline , not against us. I'm not going to expect to much heading into the Penrith game but I think the Panthers are deserved favourites, and we're the outsider. I'm expecting the worst , hoping for the best , and of course if we win everything resets friend will return for the prelim, cords will have a week off and well go again, but there is a big mountain to climb come Friday night. maybe not an Everest but definitely a k2, a very tricky assignment. go the chooks.

i think he went into last friday thinking that victory wasn't the only imp thing. don't think he orchestrated the shellacking but i do think he can use it to our advantage. that said, this is the finals and there's more than enough reasons for motivation.
having lived through the golden years of the 70s i remember the first time we made the semis in the 90 and remembering again how good it was. the regular season's your bread and butter but the finals is what it's all about. personally, i don't think last week's result will be much of a factor either way this week. the guys are pros and focus on the job at hand.

We play for premierships. Every year.

Souffs play to beat us- and the odd premiership every 40 odd years

Their heads weren't in the game after 10 minutes or so as you can tell that when they did the short kick off when down by 40- although i hope they are practicing kicking and receiving short kicks off as well as practicing kicking and defending line drop outs and grubber kicks and bombs - may be a few not mid field bonbs but high kicks with defenders rushing through to crunch the catcher and or go for the ball- chip and chase as well when the fullback is well behind the defensive line expecting the long kick.

Friday showed how vulnerable we are.
Which is ok, because 2020 was only ever in reality going to be a rebuilding year.

No Cronk, replaced by Flanno a rookie.
No Latrell, he didn't want to stay.
No Tetevano, he's playing for the Minor Premiers. (should've been kept for one more season as we chased the 3peat.)
                        Injuries galore, Radley etc.
                        Friend missing now.

The rules were changed again, to thwart us?
                        They did it after 2013.
Now they've done it again....this time they changed the rules after the season had started and we'd recruited players for the old rules game.
2021 will also be a rebuilding year as we
search high and low for giant Islander boys or anyone else who is huge and able to defend against big teams like Panthers, Souths, Storm etc.
Radley, Butcher, Keary, Flanno, Friend, Sitili, Lam...all small/light in stature...unable to
effectively tackle the big players in the NRL and stop offloads.
Obviously from now on we are going to be hit with set restarts galore and penalties galore in every match we play.
                        Big, we must recruit.
Big Man mountains who can dish out legal "bashing, smashing, and trashing" for 80 minutes.
It is our only hope for the future.
Every player in our team must be big, big strong and fast.
We must be the " too big, too strong, too fast" team.

What I wrote is all true.
If we're going to be penalised and set restarted out of games we might as well get our money's worth, and gang tackle opponents and pile on top of them.
Waste of time talking to anyone at the NRL about the refereeing, we'll just have to sort it all out ourselves.
Then sue someone if it doesn't work out.
Our kickers get "bashed and smashed" 'all' the time, and not always legally.
See us getting any penalties for it?
