2010 Pearce proved his worth, none of you were complaining! Why cause we had a creative player in carney, that allowed pearce to take on the organising role which he did great and effectively was in the top 3 halfbacks for the yr. This yr he took on two roles, which bought his game down a bit although picked up in the back end.
And once again the same old excuse, so you are saying unless Pearce has a player who's coat-tails he can ride on, he will struggle, Pearce is like Matty John's, lived off Andrew's good work for years, a "good" footballer, went out on his own and was an "ordinary" footballer.

Until Pearce can stand up and take a game, just one, buy the scruff of the neck and get us home, or turn the game on it's head he will always just be a "good" footballer.

It shouldn't be too hard, Sandow done it regularly with the Hamburglar playing in the halves with him.

Are you and others suggesting Arnold Jackson is a better player because of ability to single handidly win a game of footy with an ordinary 5/8????

    just asking

Have always said he was, however he is not a"Great" Halfback, more a brilliant Hooker playing out of position!!!

Matthew Johns proved he was a good organiser when he joined the sharks.

And yes, that is a oblique reference to his gangbang exploits.

            Good point!

It's like I'm worried about Carney 2012 not his 2011 drunken counterpart.

Ride on?? 2010 the roosters had the best halves combination because pearce and carney COMBINED well TOGETHER.

We both know that carney can't organse for shit, unless you're claiming otherwise? Pearce was in the top 3 halfbacks and his stats more then show it, a lot of people believed carney was the sole reason we did well.

Sandow has had great games sure, he also gets the tag for the biggest dickhead, most inconsistent player not to mention he misses more tackles then he produces. Yes great comparision.

The club finally made a great purchase in carney that solved our problems in creativity, that does not make Pearce shit because of it, thats not where his strength lies. Sadly carney chucked it out the window.

As Rooster 6 said we have gone and made the mistake of signing two halfbacks when he needed a creative 5/8.

He's got a great kicking game and his passing is awesome. You cant beat his cut out passes. He's still young and will get better i wouldnt give him away thats for sure.

Once again, name me one halfback who dominates behind lazy forwards and with a shit backline.

                    One.

Thurston? No. Prince? No. Cronk? Definitely not.

None of them do it. Excuses aren't bad if they're valid. We could have had Thurston in '09 and we would still have been dead last.

Also, you keep saying people call Pearce the "messiah." Where? Where has anyone done that? Because all I see is people saying he's a good halfback, who will only get better.

It's an anti-Roosters halfback forum Penguin. Roosters supporters haven't been able to agree on a halfback since Horrie Hastings. It's the poison challice of the Roosters team.

We could have a halfback with the talents of Thurston, Cronk and Alfie Langer combined and there would still be whinging he wasn't good enough.

The only thing I wish Pearce would do better is if the Roosters have the ball in the oppositions quater & its the 4th or 5th tackle I just wish he would roll the ball into the ingoal & the rest of the team trapping their FB so we get repeat sets. Just keep doing that & eventually we will score. The cross field kick is only good if you have 2 attacking players viaing for the ball against 1 winger, & you have to know the right time to do it. Its a bloody hard skill.

I'd like to see how some of these halves would go partnering Anasta and feeding the ball to J.Carney and BJ (not a winger)....
These posts weren't going on as much in 2010 or even in the Origin series last season, even PWN was praising him for a brief moment.
