Oh well, we have a consensus then!

I don't know what would be for the best here. That is why Robbo is getting paid the big bucks.

I think we should rest the odd player if Robbo believes they need it. While I literally hate losing to the Rabble, I agree with the earlier point about looking at the bigger picture.

That is so important at the business end, and we are the masters of it thank goodness.
    MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Bigger picture or no bigger picture the Roosters will send their strongest possible team out to play Souths & will do everything to win it because the Roosters aren’t worried about playing Melbourne in Brisbane IMO.

Throwing games tends to come back and haunt teams.

            Are you and Mickey brothers?

I don't think it is in the DNA of our coach or team to not try to win. Especially against that filthy vermin. I hate them today more than ever.

We lost in the last round to Souths last year. Bmoz, Keary, SST and Maubs didn't play. Smith, Hutcho, Collins and Sitili played.

The following week with a full team we smashed them.

As I wrote previously this is the record of our last 7 games of our premiership winning years.

              2013 - W W W W L L W (losses to Sharks 5th and Titans 9th)
              2018 - W W W W L L W (losses to Raiders 10th and Broncos 6th)
              2019 - W W W W W W W L (loss to Souths 3rd and we smashed them the following week)
              2020 - W W W W W W ? ?

Robbo doesn't care about resting players at the end of the year even if we lose if it is to the benefit of the team.

If we beat the Sharks then it wouldn't surprise me if there are a few more rested next week.

I think that we have had significant disruption throughout the season with injuries to key personnel, then we've added Sonny to the equation quite late in the piece. This has caused our combinations to not have gelled as well as they could have, or as Robbo would like them, coming into the finals. My best guess would be that after resting some battle-weary stars last week & this, the Souths game will be used as a dress rehearsal for the following week, with a full strength side and a last chance for both edges to gel with SBW playing Rads role in the middle. I'm salivating at the thought of how good we will be when this all clicks together. Look out Souffs !!

                P.S. Buddy - You've got 8 games in your 2019 list.

yeah agreed, all this talk of resting our spine and what not but we are forgetting that we need to gel and get those combos working in time for finals. Training and playing a match are two polar opposites.

Geez smash we with some facts why don't ya? I think Robbo thinks we can win with the squads he names when he rests players but your point is well taken lol.

We don’t agree on much but I think you’re right

Win or lose, we will go up or down swinging with full strength squads from next week. We’ll respect Souths with a full strength team. The last round against the old foe is no ordinary game.

                        Mickie is right.

                        That’s our style.

                        And it’s honourable.

Win or lose, we play the right brand of football.
