  • If we beat the Guppies

I believe top 4 is assured. Unless the Faders win their last match by 160.
Should we give Hutch a call up against Souffs? Give him some game time in case one of our halves goes down in the semis. I know we all want to pound Souffs, but looking at the big picture, maybe rest some bodies and give game time to a few eg Faumasilli, Lussick etc

I would only be resting SST and Friend due to their recent workloads, and anyone else who has niggling injuries (JWH?). I otherwise agree, give all the players likely to play a part in the finals due to injury, a go.

souths will be playing for a home final so they'll give it all they've got.

losing in the last round last year didn't do us any harm. still, you want to keep momentum.

most of our guys have had a break at one time or the other but there's probably a few who can be rested.

Not so much give rest, but giving game time to those who may be called upon during a torried finals series.

When we beat the Sharks I'm backing Robbo to rest Keary and give Sam Walker a debut vs Souths.

I reckon Tauks is a strong chance to get his rest this week. Bmoz, too.

Other than Cords I don’t think Robbo will rest anyone after this week end. There is possibly 5 games left for the season & Robbo will be playing his most experienced players. I’m tipping Sitilli will miss out soon & he will go with

            Teddy
            Toups
            JMoz
            Manu
            BMoz
            Keary
            Flanno
            Liu
            Cords
            Angus
            JWH
            Friend
            SST

            Aubbo
            Butcher
            Collins
            SBW

            That’s his most experienced team.

And the Roosters will beat Up up Cronulla

Surely you are taking the piss about resting Friend, Not as if he's had a heavy workload for the past two seasons.

If we beat the Sharks I believe players will be rested against Souths with Sam Walker making his debut, in turn giving Keary a rest..

Losing against Souths means playing our first final in Sydney, would be great!

                  Trent won't rest anyone.
They get a rest after they score when they are pounding the guppies and toothless vermin
He'll want to be working on combinations.

As Jens Voigt says " If you try to win, you might lose, but if you don't try to win, you lose for sure"

Am I the only one with a slight concern for our left edge? Keary kept harping on about it on the weekend about the combinations especially on the left edge with players in and out. I think we need to rest a few of the players that may need a rest, especially SST and then keep our combos together to build momentum.

If you exclude the games Friend off injured, and the training runs against the Broncos, Friend has made more than 40 tackles every game this year. His last few games have all been over 50 tackles.

There is no way Walker will play against Souths & there is no way the Roosters will lose to Souths to play a final in Sydney.

This is our pattern of our last 7 games the three years we won the comp under Robbo.

                              2013 - W W W W L L W (losses to Sharks 5th and Titans 9th)
                              2018 - W W W W L L W (losses to Raiders 10th and Broncos 6th)
                              2019 - W W W W W W W L (loss to Souths 3rd and we smashed them the following week)
                              2020 - W W W W W W ? ?

I wouldn't write off a loss coming up in the next couple of weeks.
Not intentional but maybe some heavy legs to top them up for the finals.

Last year's loss to Souths in the final round had no bearing to our position on the ladder. Same could happen next week.
