I'm usually not a fan of players being paid over the odds in contracts but Tedesco is worth every damned cent.

Yep Sheck was okay but I think we knew deep down he was a kid with a good step, not the next Minichiello. He's doing alright at the Warriors but like... Teddy's pretty much what Mini woulda been if he'd been identified as a FB earlier on, had better coaching and didn't do his back in. He's the best in the business by far...

DCE and Ponga are the only other dudes I've known to have 'lifetime' tenure for that kinda money. I'd say Teddy's the better deal as:
- DCE has been inconsistent. He was the Australian halfback when they signed him on $1m a season and while solid, he hasn't been good every season.
- Ponga's great but they signed him on $$$ before he'd even played first grade. I still dunno what I think about that in terms of value. I can see him ending up tired and less good after a few years of grinding away in Newcastle with little success. Like unless he REALLY loves Newcastle, IMO he'll get jack of it and the money will not mean as much coz he's already a millionaire.

Teddy's actually earned it + he's legitimately an Easts fan. I feel we locked him in at the right moment...

12.5% of the salary cap on a player that is not the chief play-maker sounds a bit high. I suspect that figure assumes third party payments... which is technically illegal but we know every team does it.

...and don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Teddy.

sometimes journos get things wrong. i wouldn't take it as a given that that figure is correct.

I am surprised Buzz didn't say he had a late night Zoom catch-up with Uncle Nick about Teddy's contract.
I like Keary's reaction in the after game interview where he said he got ripped off. Teddy seemed shocked at what he is about to sign too.
As Schuie said in his interview that what journos report and what clubs actually pay is way off sometimes.
But if DCE, Hunt, Milf, Mbye can get around $1M and Trell offered $1.1M then Teddy is worth $2M.

In all fairness to Teddy, if Mitchell is worth $1.1 Teddy is worth $3M. And if Mybe can get $1M then Teddy is worth $10M

How good Teddy!! Love this fkn club man. I know we are under the cap but I'm not sure of full details how. Can someone help me out and give me an arguement or facts to say back to mates that say we are over the cap. I was thinking like we still had Cronk and Latrell left over money but I'm sure there is more I can say.

Absolutely spot on. He didn't win the 2018 Dally M for just having a good step. Have nothing but great memories of RTS and hope there is more to come - not against the Roosters of course.

He has also been instrumental with the Warriors this season despite what the team has had to go through. I know many teams/players are in the same boat but he's the Captain and has lead by example. I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat but you can't have everyone. I'd welcome back Latrell as well but c'est la vie.
