Why does Teddy even need a manager? They get a cut for doing what? Just go and sign the contract with Nick....its not as if he will get something extra by having a manager. Teddy deserves this contract....every dollar
I still love RTS- would love to see him back home at the Roosters one day. I also feel a bit sorry for Fergo....he has gone from playing outside of Manu and being set up with his his flick passes....to Waqa Blake who actually cant pass from left to right. Ferg may also have to come home to the Roosters! Maybe in our next life......
Was thinking the other day, how good would it be to welcome RTS back one day as a 5/8.
The thought of a spine of Teddy, RTS, Keary & Friend/Verrils is dangerously close to making me need a change of underwear.
Will never happen, so NFI why i even posted this.
I would love to have him back also, problem is we are stacked all over the park, I think he would make a pretty good centre and Robbo being the coach that he is would give him a license to roam just like Manu does, I love when Joey comes to the left in a backline movement and links up with JMoz and Toops.
Messenger is a better chance of coming back than RTS. He did the wrong thing by us - just like Latrell. We don’t get walked over and forgive while Nick is alive.
How good Teddy!! Love this fkn club man. I know we are under the cap but I'm not sure of full details how. Can someone help me out and give me an arguement or facts to say back to mates that say we are over the cap. I was thinking like we still had Cronk and Latrell left over money but I'm sure there is more I can say.

Just keep saying, “Back-to-Back” and “You hate us cause you ain’t us.” Then give them the double bird. One finger for each trophy.
Its chump change for the best rugby league player in the world.
Lionel Messi just back fliped on a 1.1 B $ 5 year deal. Wich is around 40mil more per year then the combined NRL club salary cap.

Well Cronk and Latrine took up something like $1.5million, if not more so there's alot of money for upgrades. Plus I remember last season it was reported at the time that we were under the cap by approx $400k. So at the beginning of the season we would have had something closer to 2million.. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
The next point to make too your mates (and the biggest thing in fact is cap management) we don't pay overs for players we pay unders. I was arguing this point with a tigpies mate last week. Cases in point; are Luke Brooks, Josh Reyonds, and Russell Packer worth $750k, $800k and $800k respectively? No way in hell - yet those muppets at tigpies HQ pay them that much. Compare them to say Toops or Manu who stay with us for less because they want success. Or compare them to the Morris boys who signed with us for (what was it) $250-$300k because they want success.
The next thing is that we pay our stars EXACTLY what they are worth not a single dollar more. DCE @ Manly, Jason Tomo @ the Cows, Ben Hunt @ St Merge, Foran @ the Dogs and Ash Taylor @ the GC are prefect examples of this. All taking up a huge precentage of the salary cap (more than they are worth) and underachieving. By putting all their eggs in one basket those clubs don't have the money to bring across gun players to compliment their rosters. It takes a solid roster with a couple of marquee players in each team to win a comp, not a single player. Is it any wonder those other clubs are struggling to make the top 8 year after year? At the Roosters whenever a player thinks or wants more than the club thinks he is worth they release them - think Latrine last year or Fergo the year before.

Makes losing that Roger bloke an easy pill to swallow.
Yep Sheck was okay but I think we knew deep down he was a kid with a good step, not the next Minichiello. He's doing alright at the Warriors but like... Teddy's pretty much what Mini woulda been if he'd been identified as a FB earlier on, had better coaching and didn't do his back in. He's the best in the business by far...
DCE and Ponga are the only other dudes I've known to have 'lifetime' tenure for that kinda money. I'd say Teddy's the better deal as:
- DCE has been inconsistent. He was the Australian halfback when they signed him on $1m a season and while solid, he hasn't been good every season.
- Ponga's great but they signed him on $$$ before he'd even played first grade. I still dunno what I think about that in terms of value. I can see him ending up tired and less good after a few years of grinding away in Newcastle with little success. Like unless he REALLY loves Newcastle, IMO he'll get jack of it and the money will not mean as much coz he's already a millionaire.
Teddy's actually earned it + he's legitimately an Easts fan. I feel we locked him in at the right moment...
12.5% of the salary cap on a player that is not the chief play-maker sounds a bit high. I suspect that figure assumes third party payments... which is technically illegal but we know every team does it.
...and don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Teddy.
