Even Justin Hodges???? Surely Hogdes has to be an exception to the rule lol
A few years back a lot of the team members from 2002 got together at one of our matches. Hodges was there. For sure not my favourite but he helped us to a premiership.
Aidan Guerra’s form in 2013 was nothing short of amazing. I remember he had a fantastic tackle-breaking spin which in subsequent years unfortunately disappeared from his game. Best of luck Aidan
He is one of the last players to use Ray Price's hit and spin which is such a great way to beat a man. He's had a good career and another player who we got the best out of and let go at the right time, wish him well in his retirement.
Agreed - a quality Rooster who was with us through some good times and a as a mark of respect... as a reserve-grader keen to make his way into the 1sts during some horrible seasons.
Ended up playing for QLD, Italy and Australia so need I say any more. My biggest memory of him is as a gangly, slightly un-co looking guy who was anything but. Every time I wrote him off as useless he had a knack for somehow slipping tackles and finding the chalk.
Dunno about his personal life but I heard he did well on some investments. I know he's had injury troubles but hopefully his decision to retire (relatively young) is along the lines of 'I don't need another 4 seasons of 1st grade to setup the family... we're doing alright and I might as well preserve my body as best as possible'.
Seems like a long time but ~20-30 years of footy is a short time compared with the rest of your life. Hope the big man does well in his post-footy career (they always do these days with all the business connections...etc they get but still, some don't and I hope he's one of the winners).
I think you're right, he's into property investments if memory serves. I heard the news and wondered what he'd be exploring in the next phase of his life. By all accounts a very decent man, good luck in retirement
Goo luck in your retirement AG. Won us a GF and also I feel we let him go at the right time. Robbo respected him due to his comments in today’s presser

The timing of AG's announcement that he is retiring is interesting. Just before his game with the roosters.
I am sure there will be a few congratulations, pats on the back, and maybe a couple of beers , with our boys after the game.
The 2013 premiership ring is something to savor - lots of champion footballers of the past missed out on it.
For the fans and the players, winning the comp is now the pinnacle of their careers.
