You probably don't like the Chinese instinctively 19. For generations Australians were subjected to a racist anti Asian sentiment that, sadly involved the Union movement. That generational stuff is hard to ditch.
That aside, the CCP is Leninist. You might recall that after the Russian Revolution and the civil war Lenin adopted the NEP which encouraged capitalism. That's what's happened in China. It is essentially a Capitalist economy but all that is rigidly overseen by the Party. You're free to prosper but not to cheat and exploit the people, not pay tax, do fraud etc. The penalty for corruption is, as we've seen, the firing squad. We could do with a bit of that.
There are millions in the Party, the best and brightest rise by dint of their talent just as they did for centuries in the Mandarin class. Always, leadership is under scrutiny from other factions in the Party but the object is the advancement of the collective and they've done pretty well. Then there's the Tele version.

For someone who claims to to be in possession of such an elite level of intelligence why do you see the world as a battle between News Limited (the right) and everyone else (the left). You are nothing but hot air and bullshit and your view is extremely myopic and completely lacks nuance. Plus you keep bringing those filthy colours here. Shame on you for labeling normal people as racists too.Originally posted by Paddo Colt 61 View PostProbably a lot less riveting than Home and Away or 360 or The Tele but there you go.
