In games against top 8 teams he has been no less than horrid. I hope that this doesn't cost us Sammy and/or Freddy and that he ends up playing reduced minutes. Still, in Robbo we trust
It won’t Sammy V ( maybe ready to be full time hooker now), however with that serious knee injury we don’t know, what if he des it again? (here’s hoping not) and Freddy L has a long way to go. Jake is the best option we have.

they said they were going to do this a while back and now it's about to happen. we're lucky we can get a player of jake's ability to be happy with this arrangement. you'd figure he could sign with the titans for 3 years for a lot more than what he'll get with us. still, he's done well off field creating his business and he's backing his on field ability to ensure this won't be his last contract with us.

i still can't get over his 2019 season. 2 big injuries, lots of time off, comes back in the gf, plays a crucial role and we win the comp. talk about never giving up.

hard to juggle jake and same. both are big minute players. the one year deal means we can worry about that later.

To be honest I think next year we will see Friend play a more transitional role where he will play reduced minutes but still there to pass on his knowledge and wisdom to verrills with lussick coming into the bench role in 2022.

But I don't have a crystal ball and times change so who the hell knows. I could be way off

Those 2 clowns in the Bill O'Reilly stand who constantly bag our fearless leader will be devastated upon this news,3 premierships isn't enough for these 2 clowns, they have continued their tirade from our days at the SFS to the SCG.I would like them to tell JWH that his little buddy isn't cut out for 1st grade.

As we’ve seen this year with injuries, depth is important. We are onto our third string hooker and half. He’s a lifelong Rooster & our captain.
              ..it’ll be interesting to see

Yes it's bad how much people bag Jake , he would get a run in probably 14 other teams in the NRL , not to many better Hookers in the game

I think you are (and hope you are) spot on. It makes sense especially for Sammy V to pick up Jake's defensive knowledge

I too am very happy with the news. Jake deserves and has earned full support from the club and respect from its fans. While I am not sure that he will or should go past 2021 at this stage, the one year deal buys time, flexibility, and the option for him and the club to decide the best way forward for all concerned. I agree with him being allowed the chance to get to the '300 club' - there is no doubt he has earned the right to have a shot at it. It will be interesting to see what happens in 12 months - will he keep going, give it away, transition to Sam and Freddy? Further interesting times ahead in the life of a Roosters supporter, that's for sure!

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Well earned. The 1 year contract gives flexibility to club and player to call time when it's,,,,well, time.

We will miss his defense, grit and leadership when he's gone.
