Liked his game apart from his missed tackle on Fafita that led to his try.

Great service from dummy half, all passes out in front, and clean, well done.

We have some great depth in the hooking department don’t we?

Bit harsh. He wasn’t the only player to miss Fifita for the try.
          ..it’ll be interesting to see

I think it’s these moments that tell us whether someone belongs in the side or not. Not having a go at the young man. This is all new to him. Yes Collins attempt keeps him out of first grade when we have our full squad back. Looks like Robbo will have to give him his premiership ring yet again cause from what I saw of Lindsay in this ‘effort’, he is not yet good enough. Was his tackle to make. Was a blatant miss. Led to a try.

Lindsay went to make a legs tackle - Fifita actually ran backwards and sideways to escape the tackle, so wasn't a flat out miss IMO

Was a missed tackle no matter what Fafita did.

as much as I like Collins, I have to agree.

I thought young Freddy acquitted himself well (aside from the miss on Fifita). It has left me wondering, should he continue to improve and perform well and should we go all the way this year, will Robbo back him to play the role Sam Verrills played in the GF last year, or will he back Jake Friend to play the full 80? It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

i'm not sure i'd play him in the finals if only cos we have so many other players to choose from. depending on how we're travelling he might get another game to give jake a rest before the finals.

Is this the Collins that some here said would play SOO this year?

In fairness, it was also the only tackle he missed all night. Who's in your prop rotation in the full strength squad? Are you rating Faamausili ahead of Collins?

If players were dropped every time they David Fafita ran through them, teams would run out of players. He busts multiple tackles every game of the week. If he made that run off his own line and was tackled on the 30 metre line, it wouldn't even be spoken about. It is just that it was near our try line and led to a try that we even remembered it after the game.

Fair point. I just thought it was a weak attempt and it did lead directly to a try.

Tough one. I have been very impressed with what Faamausili has done the last few week. He is consistent, tackles well and has safe hands. But I prefer Collins cause he is a more dangerous and a harder runner. I also love the collisions in the game and there seems to be plenty when Collins is around.
