Sure, Zac, we will give it a shake, but surely you would rather have that second chance up your sleeve if it is available? I know that I would. Anyway, what will be will be.Originally posted by zac View Post
not sure about that. in a normal season the winner comes from the top 4 cos the best teams are in the top 4. this isn't a normal season. if we've got everyone fit and firing come finals time we'll give it a shake wherever we finish.MRR or Rabid
Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Seriously, you and the orginal poster need a Bex and a good Lay down. We will win 1 of the next two, probably both. We will make the 8 and maybe top 4. To suggest we won’tOriginally posted by Nicola Tesla View Post
Are you confident of either....???? I have no idea how this new look team of ours will perform without LK, even with some possible ins.
1. Beat the Drongos
2. make the eight
from our current position pretty much should alert the site admin to your mental instability and get you banned.

What players are we resting??Originally posted by Nicola Tesla View Post
I think we should focus on getting into the 8 then resting players....top 4 is pretty much going to be a miracle......lock in any spot 5 to 8 and have a 2 week rest before the finals assault where you need to win 4 in a row for the crown!!! Will be interesting to see what happens..

If we can't beat the tigers and the drongos, we aren't even a premiership contender - So I would expect that we will win both those games.
By the time we play the raiders, we will be just about at full strength ( except for maybe Keary) That will be the critical game to determine whether we make the top 4. I reckon we will roll them.
By the time we play the Knights we have Keary back, so should win this one as well, and assure us of a top 4 finish.
IMHO , I don't think you can win it from 5-8 position. You need to play 4 consecutive weeks of semi final football, all intense. By the third finals game, you will have a team resembling a casualty ward.
Better to play one finals match, freshen up with the week off, and then hit hard in the final two games to win the comp. With the roosters in the past, this has been the winning formula.

Just had a squiz at the draw. Looks like the eels may drop a few spots and the faiders go up. We have the tuffest draw out of the top 4 over the coming weeks. Faiders the easiest. The riff looks easy and then the storm.1911 1912 1913 1923 1935 1936 1937 1940 1945 1974 1975 2002 2013 2018 2019 2020

of course we'd like a top 4 finish but if we finish 5-8 i don't think we should start looking to 2021.Originally posted by Mad_Rabid_Rooster View Post

Top 4 is a tough stretch..... I've analysed the draw for each team.... we have it tough compared to others when you factor in injuries.Originally posted by The Marshall View Post

Having said that, my post was based on LK being our for 5 weeks or so and I wouldn't put my faith in a Flanno/Hutchins combo to win us some of these games we would have romped home in. (like the next 2)
If the 4 looks lost, I would focus on giving the back up hooker some time....rotating the busted.... resting the over worked (SST) then 4 weeks of finals carnage!!!
We will see how this rolls out
BTW....your comment you and the original poster need a bex...... are same person most of the time!
and....thanks for looking out for my mental well being....Last edited by Nicola Tesla; 08-20-2020, 11:37 AM.

Agreed. Looking at the draw, this Tigers game is a massive game I believe. Win this (and assumably next week against the Broncs), and we should be back to near full strength the following week (barring more injuries of course), and all guns blazing. Dropping this Tigers game will not allow us much breathing space heading into the finals, hoping to keep 4th spot.Originally posted by Nicola Tesla View Post

win this game and I can see SST and maybe others getting a rest against the Broncs and full steam ahead towards the finals!Red, White and Bluesters!!!

Maybe Nicola should have a bet on us not making the eight.Originally posted by Maxy Walker View PostThe bookies don’t agree that we’ll miss the top 4. They have us at $1.50, equivalent to a 67% chance. You can’t even get a bet on us to make the top 8. They rate it as a foregone conclusion.
