You obviously don't understand exaggeration to emphasize a point.

It's ridiculous that a young kid coming off a serious injury is in the leadership group. That's nothing against the guy himself but shows the lack of depth in leaders that we have.

Come to think of it, the guys do have some leadership qualities.

I guess aubbo and anasta are good leaders at not taking any hitups or helping out in the tough stuff when we got the ball or doing any tackles in defence whenever they play in the backrow.

I guess mini is a good leader at how to fumble passes thrown to him.

It's funny how they say in the article about the leadership group, that the players did certain activities to determine who were the natural leaders amongst the group.
As if!
Most of us here could have predicted that the guys named would have made the chop.
The on field leader this year needs to be FPN. He is our most experienced forward. He needs to be the new leader of the pack.
I've been critical of his attitude and work ethic in the past.
2012 is a massive make or break year for FPN.
We saw against Melbourne in 2010 how good he can be if he wants to be.

I agree with you with respect to most footballers, but there are still more than a few that are alcoholics and/or pisshead idiots. Carney is both and hardly based on one photo.

If the great Jack Gibson was alive & coaching he wouldn't be into this crap ideology. He would be head of the roost. Players of today are given too much latitude, too much say in football related matters.

That is quite funny, as it was the great Jack Gibson who returned from the USA in 1974, with a questionnaire about leadership, pretty sure he pinched it from Vince Lombardi, which all the players were asked to complete & based on the results, replaced the great Ron Coote with the great Artie Beetson as captain who then went on to become the greatest club captain our great club has ever had! But I do agree that Jack wouldn't have needed to announce a leadership group, but leadership groups are not a new thing, ever since Dally Messenger every half decent team has always had a leadership group, they were the blokes who the younger guys would follow into the trenches, Ron Coote didn't need a (C) beside his name to be a leader in one of the greatest sporting teams to ever exist!
