I am pretty sure, despite the dickheads on the internet, JWH did shake hands but he didn't want to be his buddy.
Hetherington is a loony but a likeable kid, he was not released for off field incidents, Penrith just really wanted him and his on field stuff had him spending time off the ield. The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

Yeh he shook hands with Hetherington, the ‘full video’ that Buddy has linked was actually their second interaction when Hetherington came back looking for him again which is what most people have reacted to.
A handshake is part of good sportsmanship but you don’t need to ****ing cuddle.

I back JWH all the way on how he handled this. You don't win premierships by being nice and pleasant. And F*&K those commentators who thought it wasn't a good show of sportsmanship.
If you want to see good sportsmanship, just watch footage of Steve Bowden in the 1981 semi final Newtown Vs Manly. Now there's sportsmanship, and a lovely fellow like I've never seen.

I wouldn't shake hands with anyone from the opposition who'd been attacking me with verbal abuse, whacks to the head, face massages, or any other type of abuse.
Anyway, what are playerss even doing shaking hands with oppositon players atm..."social distancing".

I agree that there was nothing much in it. Any chance for the haters and sensationalists across all forms of media to have a dig - just get over yourselves already!MRR or Rabid
Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
