It's a tough one and I don't know the right answer but the NRL can't come across as re-starting the comp against best medical advice for the purpose of getting the TV revenue.

i'd go for a less ambitious comp. desperate times call for desperate measures. four groups of four (Qld teams plus Warriors in one group to get around border restrictions). each team plays each other once in the group for a total of 24 games all up. play 2 games a weekend with flexibility about dates to cover for possible virus outbreaks. winner of each group makes into the top 4 (placing within the top 4 to be determined by the current NRL table after those first 2 rounds). 2nd place team fill out the bottom half of the top eight. then you have a normal finals series. winner wins the premiership for 2020 (yes, there will always be an asterisk about that, but it ensures that each and every game means something).
that way we'd get four months of watching 2 games of footy a week and there's no reason they couldn't play the first game Friday week.
I don't know about that medical advice part. They are healthy and will be quarantined. Medically I don't think it's a problem.

The most mentioned complaint is that they are being treated differently than other businesses and employees.

Federal Sports Minister Richard Colbeck is urging all sporting codes to be cautious about plans to resume play amid the coronavirus pandemic.
      Key points:

      • The NRL suspended its season indefinitely on March 24, in response to the coronavirus pandemic
      • The league wants to get games restarted on May 28, but the Qld Premier says her state's three teams will not be given quarantine exemptions
      • There are suggestions the Broncos, Cowboys and Titans might have to base themselves in NSW for the season

In particular, the Minister was today wary of the NRL's plan to resume the rugby league season on May 28.

"I think it is a bit ambitious, to be frank."

"If you consider the advice that we are still getting from people like [Chief Medical Officer] Brendan Murphy … they're the people who I think should be providing advice on these things.

"I think we need to be really cautious about the circumstances we are in."

          May 28 too ambitious?
          Not sure.
I hear "The cure is worse than the virus" more in the media every day.

The Cruise ships will be back on the waters soon...

. Fred Olsen plans to resume ocean cruises on May 23
. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd – proposed restart date May 12
. Princess Cruises – proposed restart date May 11

          And a lot of others.

After the Princess Cruises disaster, I for one will not be going on a cruise for a very long time, if ever.

Some pretty serious changes and reform would have to take place before I think of reconsidering.
            MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Apparently he has been "training the house down".

So now he needs a new house.

Agree , I think he will conveniently have a sore hamstring or such also is Boyd available for selection or still being tested

I think Easts have kind of indicated he would have probably played rounds 1 and 2 had they known the intermission that was coming. Part of Nicks let's start afresh call.

It was never Nicks original call...as far as I know right from the begining NRL said they were going to start a 13 week comp from scratch then the parra and Newcs players started crying to daddy pearce and so on...Nick was just an advocate for it and pushed it...
Dont care in the end what a great motivator by Nick for 15 in a row coming up
