What a mess! It is concerning to see how badly the NRL appears to have financially managed its affairs in recent years. The positions of its senior leadership would have to be untenable now you would imagine. I bet the AFL is not in a situation anything like this. Sadly, they are probably laughing at our expense.

I struggle to think of anything Ch9 has done that is good for the game except put it on our TVs and even that is substandard.
Its amusing seeing Ch9 crying as they have had far too much influence over the game and now some if ot has been taken away they are having a tantrum.

I know Flanagan is not popular here, but I remember hearing him speak and he was asked "how can we improve the game" his response was "to remove the media's influence" and I think he is spot on.

Ch9 have been paying to control the game and they have played a big part in ruining it. The best thing for the game is for the TV rights to cost a lot less and to be given to Ch7 or Ch10 and no staff from Ch9 involved and then the salaries of everyone from execs to players get reduced down to "real" market values

Our electricity system was better when the state govt owned and ran it...and you could phone them here and talk things over in proper english.
Our water system was better when "the Water Board" owned and ran it.
In the "olden days" the Water Board (in conjunction with the local council) used to come around and clean out all the drains in the roads to make sure storm water could flow properly.
Our banking system was better when the Commonwelth Bank was owned by the Commonwealth govt.
QANTAS should be owned and run by the federal govt.
All workers' superannuation going into a "National Superannuationtion Fund" ...where the money would be invested and interest paid, capital guaranteed and available at retirement... would be a better idea that what there is now.

Agree that the NRL is a basket case. But so is the C9 coverage. IMO its abit of the pot calling the kettle black here.
