How big a pay cut would you take to keep your job?

At the new rate of pay that players may be forced to take when the game eventually gets back on its feet, the lesser/fringe players may choose a different career path.
Guys like Latrell who are purely money driven may give the game up.
There is no way the salary cap could possible remain as is after this is all over.

Yes mate I know. I love sport too. But people and business takes priority over sport.
...absolutely.
Totally absolutely.
I say there's enough money to do both.
We give $200m away to the UN or someone every 52 weeks for
"climate change".
Cancel one payment in the name of:
"Mental health of our citizens"..
and the NRL and all its clubs are saved.
And saved are all the jobs the NRL
and its clubs provide.
Jobs, jobs, jobs...jobs for the people.

Stating he wants to win a comp. Yet signs with Newcastle.
Maybe they missed the memo, press conferences, and written word.
Maybe we sign him if he wants to win a premiership?Last edited by bondi.boy; 03-27-2020, 02:30 PM.

yes the mantra of Jobs does lie at the heart of it.

He’s a bit like Gagai. Great at rep level, average at NRL level.Originally posted by bondi.boy View Post

But maybe he would thrive away from their imposter of a football coach.

Didn’t know they played league in Indonesia! Spose it is close to PNG, and we all know that the national sport of PNG is..Originally posted by rented tracksuit View Post
And before they help out other nations. I bet Indonesia gets a large chunk of our money through all this...it’ll be interesting to see

One point put forward at the NRL apparently is the the squad sizes will be reduced to 25 next year to reduce salary caps. All clubs will be allowed to bring up juniors to cover injuries, rep rounds, etc. without penalties.
This sounds alright to me.
Maybe will go without Aubs, Bmoz, Jmoz, Lam and Hutchinson?

I expect Aubo and Morris boys to go around again next year seeing as they will be playing very limited footy this year.Originally posted by Kelby View PostOne point put forward at the NRL apparently is the the squad sizes will be reduced to 25 next year to reduce salary caps. Lam and Hutch can go play reserve grade in England.
