To some players - whose attitude was that of being "ALL IN" - that would be viewed as unforgivable.

I imagine a bloke like Boyd Cordner who gives his heart and soul, it'd be hard for him to trust Latrell again on the footy field. Especially after he dogged it in a Kangaroos jersey vs Tonga, too.
It was "reported" that this was a real point of concern for the Club, On the feeling like he had been kicked kicked in the teeth crap, The club made an offer and he wanted to look elsewhere so the club withdrew the offer and re-signed Jared, SST and Manu players that wanted to stay with the Club.. Imagine the outcry from the fans if we lost one or more of these players whilst they were waiting for latrell to make up his mind if he wanted to stay or not...

      Sunday Telegraph states today;

      Photo of Latrell.

      OFF BOOKS AT CHOOKS

There is no way the Sydney Roosters can now do an about-face and keep Latrell Mitchell.
The moment his $800,000 contract offer from the Chooks was turned down by his manager, the club used the space in the salary cap to lock up front-rowers Jarred Waerea-Hargreaves and Siosiua Taukeiaho long term. They also have to upgrade other players from the grand final-winning team.

      #####

Club has spent all the cap money, including Latrell's 2020 contract money?
What's Club gonna do now when Latrell arrives for training?

It could work out for all parties. Instead of it being like 'hey Latrell gets $800k and we work out the rest later' it'll be more like 'SST, JWH and Manu are sorted, Latrell can have whatever's left over if he wants it'.

I highly doubt JWH and SST both got $500k upgrades. More like... from Cronk + Tetevano leaving we gained ~$1.25 mil a year which has afforded:
          - A $250k a season upgrade for Manu
          - A $200k a season upgrade for JWH
          - A $400k a season upgrade for SST
          - A $150k a year upgrade for Billy Smith

Latrell's on what, $400-600k a season? There's still $$$ left to upgrade him by $200k and guys like Hall + Morris will retire.

The only news is that there is no news so the Tele's muck raking. Meanwhile 'Trell's at his new farm with the family ('oh nah they broke up' lolz - what bollocks!) and there will be no news until he returns in January + has a chat with Robbo/Nick. If he wants to stay, they'll find a way to keep him.

JWH resigned for not much didn’t he? I think he’s on the same coin. TKO was a big upgrade though deservedly.

Doesn’t the salary cap increase each year as well?

The only reason people are getting butt-hurt on here is that he's a really good player who ANYBODY woulda want on their team. No NRL player wants to play against him.
I don't know Latrell from a bar of soap , he is a great player , but I must assume that you have a personal relationship with him to say he is a great bloke , or if you just met him at the footy that may or may not be the case.

Don't know if that report is accurate. James "Jimmy" Smith said this morning that the upgrades for the props came from residual dollars from the Cronk to Flanagan deal.

Trent said he's a good kid.

                    Bored in the centres?
This is not Mod League...this is Pro Football...pro football where:
"He who PAYS the piper CALLS THE TUNE!"
Clubs sign players to do exactly what the Coach tells them.
                    Players have a boss...the coach.
The coach has a boss...the club board who pays him.
The board has a boss...the fans who pay it.
Some people seem to need it explained to them.
Clubs want to shoot out of the blocks in March with a team of seasoned professionals in each position...not
bored centres who want to try to turn
                    themselves into fullbacks or props.

Bear in mind that’s the same guy who reckoned SBW was unwanted by the all blacks for the world cup and a done deal to join us halfway through the 2018 season.

He also said the reason our offer was pulled was that our playing group approached Robbo suggesting he needs to spend time with all players, not just Latrell.

???...not sure that Jimmy is that much in the know tbh.

The longer the sookathon goes the more time he spends in Maccas and the bigger the man boobs are becoming.
