Roz, maybe a prop cause our frontline is young but I cant see that given the release of Ryles.

I think we are strong at lock. Cordner is the obvious choice but if you want to go "third prop" at lock you have FPN or JWH or thirdly if you want to go with the mobile creative lock you have Anasta.

The thing I like about our pack is the opportunity for a few different looks. The only real forwards gap is we lack a bit of experience.

Why not Bosden at Lock? We bought him for a reason

imo, FPN and bosden are the only 2 in our squad that are suited to lock forward. JWH doesnt have the workrate and is too big atm - if we were to play him at lock we would need to trim him down ala FPN but that would mean that he would lose his effectiveness as a powerhouse prop. Cordner has played very little lock over the years and although he did well enough there last year, his best position in on the edge. cordner for mine is a very similar sort of player to fitzy so for me it would be like playing fitzy at lock - yes he would not let you down but he is more effective elsewhere.

As for prop, yes we have some good young players but what happens if 1 of those 4 (kennedy, masoe, tasi, JWH) gets injured?? who do we pick?? evans, aliomai, nappa, arona - they are all unproven youngsters. the ryles thing is an interesting one but i maintain that the club has room under the cap but is saving it for something big - you cant just lose myles, carney, watts, graham, ryles and replace them with bosden, tagive, henry, mitchell, mortimer. we need a forward leader above all else which is why i propose the addition of merrin and watmough - both will be offcontract and both will give plenty to our pack in all facets. Id also still like to see us sign a young half as an heir apparent to anasta. it could be mortimer but a tuimavave, mcgahan, graham, miller is what we need as well

Thats the way I see it, nothing wrong with that backline! SKDS and Leiluas tackle bust will give us space.
