Rubbish!!! He turned booing, something that all sportsmen experience into a racist issue. I've heard people boo Federer...Is that racist too? Whilst I don't disagree that there is a racist element in ALL societies, his whinge was just a way to get his name in the papers at a time when his career was in decline...many other Indigenous players may have supported him, like Michael O'Loughlin at the time, he didn't go on about it because it may have obvious to him that Goodes whinge didn't have legs.

We aren't going to agree on this - obviously - I don't see any evidence to sustain that view.. Have you sat down and watched "The Final Quarter"? It's free on ten play. It directly addresses the view you are presenting. It doesn't have a voice over - it lets the words and images stand alone and tell the story. Its not manipulated - even lets Sam Newmans views be aired. It shows why we need to speak up now and speak up loud for Latrell.

Cronk got booed at Suncorp....Yeah I said it back then and what does he do? I don't think he was booed because of his skin colour or background, it's because people thought he acted like a jerk when he publicly identified that young girl at the footy. Plus didn't he also try and incite crowds with war dance and spear throwing actions towards them?

Steve Smith and Dave Warner were booed mercilessly recently by the English crowds but just got on with the game.

Anyway as I said before I'm confident Lattrell is better than that.

Hopefully it would have been called out anyway. Including the Maguire and Momorovski cases. All abuse, all unacceptable whether it includes the word "black" or not.

Goodes set back the fight against racism rather than enhanced it. That's just my opinion.

If you are going to make any comment on Adam Goodes, please watch the doco. Just do it before you make more comments. It definitely contradicts some of the versions of events here which appear to be relying on unreliable memories. Even Sam Newman did not have a problem with his portrayal. Let the facts stand. Btw I’m not a fan of AFL but Goodes treatment transcended that.

Take it from me: don’t waste your time outlining your thoughts in a cogent and rational manner. There will be no open discourse here.

The Chookpen has a bunch of guys who won’t have a bar of it regardless of what you say nor how you say it, purely because of the threatening subject matter.

The way some wriggle and contort to paint an alternate view would be admirable we’re it not so depressing.

Even on a thread about a guy who made insinuations about murdering Latrell and using his race as an insult, the main thrust from the usual suspects has been pc gone mad.
