  • Was resting Origin players a fire up tactic by Robbo?

Does Robbo rest our stars to make others take responsibility of the result without them? I reckon it's just a prep tactic and Robbo was prepared to lose just so he could tell everybody he expects better of them...

Resting obviously didn't work , and if its a prep tactic , its a dumb one. won two from seven and todays isn't looking great

Yep 48-10 against a top 8 team with 5 Origin players... clearly did nothing.

It did do something , lost us 5 from 7 , the reason we won today was having injured and rested players back , hence showing why resting players didn't work.

Well, I dont think we can determine that yet. If the roosters start to perform exceptionally well from here onwards without losing steam than obviously the tactic worked. Also, if we do get injuries in the latter part of the season, troops which were called up due to robbo resting players e.g tuponiua, Butcher, silly gamer and ikuvalu will have the first grade experience the team needs
          EASTS TO WIN!

If the purpose in resting players is to have a fresh team for the finals series surely the measurement of its success isn't whether we win regular round games but rather how we perform come finals time.

The alternative is to play them during Origin, win a couple more games then capitilulate in the finals Dragons style.

              Depends on what you fancy.

Agree that a point , but still loosing that many games wasn't in the plan

Losing was never the plan for any coach, and Robbo expected us to win those games we lost during that period. But look at today's game, we didn't have 3 of our starting team, lost Frioend in the 8th minute yet had the depth and experience to cover for them. That's the benefit of resting some players early on in the season.

Sorry for the typo , but no need to have a crack at someone for giving an opinion , agree with it or not

agreed, im sure robbo expected to lose a few. the idea is to have the team fresh for the finals , cannot determine success until the roosters season is finished , hopefully the day after grand final day, with a win in the last game of the season ....here is hoping
