This all started for us when we changed from Eastern Suburbs to Sydney City. Along with Canterbury Bankstown and Balmain who both renamed to Sydney; and Souths went into an abyss.

We embraced the future and made steps to remodel ourselves appropriately to ensure survival and look what has happened since. 3 premierships and constantly in the top half of the competition.

As eluded to above, I see this as an opportunity to reclaim our borders if teams geographically south of us move and relocate.

If Cronulla get moved somewhere, Wests take games further west, Saints permanently move to Wollongong, Canterbury move to New Zealand or Campbelltown then we could share the remaining space with Souths and continue our rivalry.
    ..it’ll be interesting to see

Not too sure about that - nearly all the Easts fans I know live outside the Sydney/Eastern Suburbs electorate - west, south-west, shire, central coast. The ones who actually attend games anyway. Economics and house prices has meant a shift away from the city/east for many who originally came from those areas and who still follow the Chooks.

I cannot understand why anyone would be against the Allianz rebuild. We are already behind most other States in the area of footy/multi-purpose stadiums and run the risk of falling further behind. I look on with envy when I see Optus Stadium and the various ones they have in Vic. All of which I believe have been built with govt funds.

Given the kiddies nowadays are climate change warriors, they wouldn't want aircon in their classrooms anyway, so we can slide that money back towards the stadium rebuild. And the demountables are fine - students and teachers won't want the dust and dirt of building them new schoolrooms - too much pollution in their vicinity that will harm them!!! Plenty of money saved here that can be put back into the Allianz rebuild ..

True, although I sometimes get the feeling that Nick wouldn’t want to claim a greater Junior territory. I mean, we have jack shit now and are the power brokers of the comp. Look at Brisbane and Penrith and Canberra. Fat lot of good owning territory has done them.

The Roosters will never get relocated because they are a well drilled machine who have very smart blokes running it.

To be fair to Canberra, its a tough ask in their region with aerial ping pong being quite strong but as for the Donkeys and the Riff go... agreed.

Yeah having a large junior base is overrated, us and Melbourne have the smallest yet we have been the 2 most successful clubs of the NRL era.

The criteria should be 12 teams with each club having a reserve grade team.
                        Cowboys
                        Broncos
                        Titans

Easts of Parramatta which swallows up the Dogs, Tigers, Souths & Cronulla
                        Wests of Parramatta Penrith
                        Norths playing out of Gosford

I can't see how the privately owned teams can be cut or forced to moved (Souths, Manly & Dragons are the only 3 Sydney teams I think)

We are the city team so should stay.
Cronulla are the South area team.
Manly are the North area team.
                              Parramatta the Inner West.
                              Penrith the Outer West.

Saints should play fulltime at the Gong (privately owned by a Wollongong company as far as I know)

I hate the Tigers but the should play out of Campbelltown.

That leaves the Dogs and South (privately owned so can't see why they should get moved if the owners stump up the cash it should be their call).

We should be safe but the NRL will design the criteria on who they want to see moved.
If Beate and Toddy want us moved they will force it by the criteria.

I don't think expansion outside of traditional RL areas will work.
But if relocation is done Souths should be very worried, they are a financial mess and owe millions to the Juniors which they will never repay.
they also don't have a leagues club. But saying that the media would get on their hypocritical high horses and prevent it
